Both JFK and Robert Kennedy were involved and committed to drawing down the military industrial complex beginning with the CIA... They both were assassinated by ultra right wing elements in our country. Even if you buy the Oswald story .. Oswald was clearly a tool of the military, his post in the Soviet Union, being taught Russian, his ability to renounce his citizenship and then return to full citizenship with his wife ?? in the middle of the cold war? His story has all the tell tale markings of a covert intelligence operation. The idea that we are further left now then in the mid to late 60's is absolutely preposterous... are you all that crazy to believe that hooey ?
If the Democratic party had Jackie today we would all be in a much better place... and yes he would still be a Democrat..
I also find it amazing that the people who jumped on this question are the exact same members that evoke the Kennedy name every time someone brings up the Bush Nazi connection.. you people are unbelievable.

you are an idiot. Lieberman has always been more of a Republican shill. He has voted along with the republican party on most of the major issues, supported the war, supported torture, supported tax cuts for the richest 1% of Americans, etc. Noone stabbed him in the back...people just realized what he really was and wanted him out.
Why is it that you conservatives do not ever care what a person does? You only pay attention to what party a person is. You guys bashed Clinton for lying about a BJ, while when Bush lies over and over and over and over...and gets caught over and over and over...you keep supporting him. Bush could nuke washington DC and Texas, then publicly come on the airwaves and admit to giving the order, and you idiots would still support him!

I disagree with your premise. Lieberman became the lap dog of Bush. Lieberman lost the promary legitimately and not has stabbed the Democratic party by trying to run against the Democratic candidate,

"The democratic party today is much farther left than in the days of JFK. He would be a Republican if he were around today."
Okay I had to chuckle at that one. Republicans trying to claim JFK! Where will it stop?

yeah, with his support of the Equal Rights Amendment, he would have been tossed under the bus by the overwhelming majority of Democrats who voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Legislation.

Let's see, JFK had the balls to stand up to the Soviets, and was in favor of smaller government and tax cuts.
In other words, today's Democrats would lynch him.
