If our children learned the art of self defense, and self cisiciline, would they get better marks at school, be picked on less, have more confidence?
Could this bring truency, and crime down?
Would this be worth the extra money to schools?

Am I dreaming, or can Israel be the catalyst that leads the M-E to a new era of prosperity? This idea came to me right in the middle of the recent war with Hezbollah. Its sometimes very hard to visualize given the animosity that exists between the Palestinians and Israel and also Hezbollah and Israel. Yet I believe a real peace deal is not too far away. The key of course is for Israel to be accepted as a state. The Arab world needs to understand that Israel is NOT going anywhere. It cannot be defeated militarily and the nuclear option is not on the table as any country that launches a first strike would itself be wiped out (Iran and Syria included). So recognise Israel and immediately the following things will happen: Palestine will become a state, probably with its capital in Jerusalem, Israel will release all Arab prisoners, Israel will start to invest in Palestine and Lebanon, Israels technology sector will start collaborating with all neigbouring states etc etc...see below

That the US politics is run by a bunch of elite and rich people who pay u good money to put up a show in front of public to make them believe in democracy.

That the US foreign policy is not concerned about spreading freedom in mid east, if they were that concerned, how come they didnt invade other mid east countries such as syria, saudi arabia, saudi arabia has many oppressed women caged in their homes, how come bush doesnt want to invade that place if he is sooo concerned about freedom?

no matter whom u vote for, the elite decide

and they decide at american people's expenses, they decide, and americans lose their lives

and their dream? to keep the western empire the greatest the world has ever known. its about power squirrels

Ok, is it the "War on Terrorism" or "Global Struggle Against Extremism"? Also, are we fighting "Evil Doers" or "Islamo-Fascism"? Oh and are we at a code "Yellow" right now or a code "Orange"?

I'm trying to keep up but this war(or is it struggle) keeps changing all the time, almost like it is empty rhetoric. I'm not even sure what I am supposed to be afraid of right now.

Just a little diversion question for the heated politics forum. Ease up, people, there's a good reason you never talk politics or religion at a social gathering.

Why do we assume that setting up democratic governments are good for American interests? The Palestinians elected Hezbolah. Is Saudi Arabia was a democracy do you think they would elect an American friendly government? Here is a news flash, the Saudi royal family is the only standing in the way between the very anti-American majority there and Bin Laden taking over.

What happens if the Iraqi people elect a Sunni government, ask us to leave and then make an alliance with Iran. Then what? Do we conquer them again?

I think the was of terrorism will go a lot like the war on drugs (which has been a dismal 30 year failure) but I also think it is another political issue that conservatives like to talk about but actually very little about.

Abortion
Gay Marriage
Flag Burning
War on Terrorist
Ending Corporate welfare
Homeland Security

These are all conservative hot button issues that if these were ever resolved, the republicans would have nothing left to run on.

Here is an example. When Ronald Reagan ran for president he campaigned hard on the abortion issue, but once in office never attempted to pass any law stopping or even restricting the procedure. He never really cared about it, but he knew it would get the religious right wingers out and it did.

it seems to me like we have made our country into a place that is so equal that it isn't equal anymore.

i am the average white 17 year old. i'm at a point in my life where i am applying for college scholarships, that is a major problem. My dad is a farmer and my mom works part-time at a junior high, so we don't struggle financially, but are by no means rich. by next year, they will have 3 kids in college so they won't be able to help all of us.

my problem is that i don't qualify for any scholarships. we don't have a scholarship for white people anywhere. i see them for mexicans, african americans, asians, latinos, indian, native american....anything but white people. that is not equal.

there are other things to. at our school we have a mexican culture club, indian culture club, asian culture club, african american culture club...so one day someone tried to create a caucasion culture club and got suspended. thats not equal.

i could go on but i'm out of space

Well, heres the proof. Its U.S code.

(a) Prohibited activities
(1) any test or experiment involving the use of a chemical agent or biological agent on a civilian population; or

(this sounds about right, but then theres this)

(b) Exceptions: Subject to subsections the prohibition in subsection (a) of this section does not apply to a test or experiment carried out for any of the following purposes:

(1) Any peaceful purpose that is related to a medical, therapeutic, pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial, or research activity.

!!!!!!!(3) Any law enforcement purpose, including any purpose related to riot control.!!!!!!!!!
