I think the was of terrorism will go a lot like the war on drugs (which has been a dismal 30 year failure) but I also think it is another political issue that conservatives like to talk about but actually very little about.
Abortion
Gay Marriage
Flag Burning
War on Terrorist
Ending Corporate welfare
Homeland Security
These are all conservative hot button issues that if these were ever resolved, the republicans would have nothing left to run on.
Here is an example. When Ronald Reagan ran for president he campaigned hard on the abortion issue, but once in office never attempted to pass any law stopping or even restricting the procedure. He never really cared about it, but he knew it would get the religious right wingers out and it did.

Terrorism is a tactic that Americans used to win there independence. And no, the conservatives don't really mean what they say because the only thing they care about is power. They are so selfish that they don't even cover their tracks well. So when the time comes that they can not buy the election by creating a willie Horton ad or a Swift boat full of hit men, then they will be upset.
The rest is an act, a bad play, a salesman's dream, a little sell out that has turned into a full blown fraudulent criminal behavior, including payoffs, strip clubs, free booze, call girls, and several hats full of free money along with diamond rings for the ladies.
It will not last because slime gets so deep in rises up the drowns the participates.

Do you really understand the intricasies of politics? There is nothing for a president to sign until a bill is sent to his desk.. That was an uncommonly unthinking statement. Since the supreme court had enacted a law by themselves, it would take congress to write a new law to send for signature.. it was a democratic congress.. they would never create that bill.
From your comment (question) it appears you really don't have any basic knowledge of what is going on in the world today. The terrorists have to be chased down to eliminate them.. it is a world wide conflict and war.. It has been ongoing for more than 20 years in some places and is creating genocide in many areas right now!! Not all of the conflict is terrorist inspired either, it is a conflict over who is going to run the country, Islam or democracy. Is what is intended for this country and many others, if they find a way to succeed.
Your next to the last paragraph can't go by without a response.. You attempt to make it appear dour, just to cover up the fact the dems can't even get together to formulate any plan. They are so discombobulated and frightened by the takeover by the extreme left, they remain in a quandry about how to get their own party back.

Well the same can be true with Democrats also. Gun Control, Pro Abortion, Pro-Gay Marriage, etc. Basically, your list is also some key issues for Liberals.
I do believe they want to end terrorism. You cannot really compare the drug war and terrorism. Drugs are a product for consumption and is based primarily on supply and demand. And there has always been a demand.
Terrorism is a act based on ideology. The United States and allies know that Democracy is important to the war on terror. It is more important that killing the terrorist themselves.
In order to win the war on terror you must kill the terrorist and the message they carry. The message is the most dangerous.
So the situation might seem uncontrolled, and it is horrific. But is is necessary.
To think that the republicans don't want to win the war is nuts. The war is not causing them much success with independents and others. So if they could win the war tomorrow they would.

At any rate, terrorism is a WAY of warfare, it can no more "end" than can "war" itself. When you have evil people that dont care about bystandards and know they cant win a conventional war, you will have terrorism. Everything you listed above Bush has taken action on so I find it self-refuting.

1. Invasion of Afganistan-announced 2 months ahead of time. plenty enough time to allow Osama to disappear, and all we did was bomb some mountain ranges.
2. Invasion of Iraq-We went in on a lie to begin with. No WMD's and Saddam is long out of office.Why are we still there dying?War was a sham, an excuse to attempt to finish what daddy couldn't.
3. Cooperation and coordination with other nations-by sheer force or extortion by threatening to pull out of trade agreements.
4. Patriot Act-Making citizens into terrorists since 2001.
5. Terror surveilance program- I love Uncle Sam listening to my conversations on telephone, and hijacking my computer by remote access to read my hard drive. And Yahoo giving a copy of my online history along with Google, and AOL because government says they have to, it's a matter of national security.
6. Successful detention and interogation of illegal combatants and terror suspects.-Nothing works better than good old fashioned torture.
7. Financial transaction surveilance program-I also love the idea that Uncle sam can seize my accounts just because my hateful neighbor states that I am a terrorist.
8. Security-first border control bill- How many millions of illegal immigrants are in our country now and when will they actually stop them from coming into our nation.
People need to stop watching that propaganda channel called FOX news and get the whole story. And come up with something better than these 8 failures. The war on terror is as useless as the war on drugs. Its up to the people to help themselves since our government only wants to persecute its own citizens and line their own pockets. There has always been terrorists and always will be. Stop 1 band 2 more will take its place. Stop 1 kilo of cocaine and 20 more will go through undetected. Both a major loss of our tax dollars. Wouldn't it be better spent on actually educating the youth so they can learn to research the whole story, not just what FOX News tells them. Or even how to spell. People please, this is a man whose vacation planner is head of FEMA, and actually nominated the family LAWYER to supreme court JUDGE until congress stepped in and said HELL NO! Has to be a JUDGE to be a supreme court JUDGE. A man who got c's in school, I'm guessing those c's were bought with his daddy's oil money and the teacher couldn't give him a's in good concience. So I can't spell so what. I am a US citizen, all my education budget was spent on our military to defend another country when our own needed them.

perhaps the Democrats should run on the same issues and not act on them either? what does it matter if you never act on them?
the people aren't paying attention and it would be better than letting the current do-nothings stay in power...
they also mention Osama a lot and do very little to get him too... apparently he's so horrible we're letting Pakistan take care of it... hahaha... that's right, the same Pakistan that can't even control it's own Southern region at all...

If conservatives really wanted to end terrorism, they would not have funded groups such as the Muhjadeen. They would negotiate rather than begin campaigns of state terror. They would not be involved with groups such as the PNAC. If you have not heard of these terms, please do yourself a favor and look them up. Do a Google search. It will help enlighten you to what our current leaders (and past) hope to achieve. This is global domination the American way.

Bush and some Republicans perpetuate "terrorism". They didn't create it-- that came before them. But they continue to attack other couutries with invasions and in covert operations and when people fight back, they call them "terrorists".
Stop believing the type and get rid of that word. It is only propaganda to keep the citizens believing in them and allowing them to spend money on "contractors" who overcharge the Pentagon and waste our tax dollars. If it weren't for the "terrorist" game, our nation would still be rich. They're spending your money on NOTHING.
The Republicans wanted to get rid of social programs so that the tax money could go to their cronies. It worked because they created lots of propaganda for you to suck in like gas. It's going to kill America if they keep believing it. Flag Burning, Gay Marriages, Abortions are all issues that keep you unfocused. Think for yourself and use mail in ballots so they can't say you didn't vote in the phony Republican owned voting machines.
