It's just a whole bunch of lies and propaganda by the Bush administration to gain and maintain political power. The terms keep changing, because GOP propaganda keeps evolving in order to keep people believing in them as their lies get exposed. Terrorism is the ticket the GOP has been riding for more than five years in order to maintain their grips on the American psyche.
Terrorism, which has been the most important issue in American politics in the past five years, is actually a tiny little problem, a nuisance. It has allowed the GOP to pass policies Americans would never have accepted if it weren't for post- 9/11 climate of fear that has reigned in this country, and which the Bush administration has done everything in his power to foster.
In 2001, the year of the attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, 42 900 Americans died in motor vehicle accidents, 14 500 died of poisoning, 14 200 from accidental falls, 4 200 suffocated and 3 900 died in fires. It was, in fact a typical year. In other words, you are far more likely to die in any of the aforementioned manners than in a terrorist attack. Death by different disease are even higher. This is what Kerry meant when he said terrorism was really a nuisance. He was right, but the American public wasn't ready to hear it. So sleep tight, don't worry about the terrorists and start asking the real questions of the Bush administration.
Terrorism is a doddle.

Is there a difference between evil doers and Islamo fascism? or even the war on terror and the global struggle against extremism? The terminology changes as our focus changes but they all mean the same thing.

The whole ‘fascist’ thing is a Republican political / linguistic trick to scare the stupid-white-trash conservative-Christian-scum voting base that keeps getting them elected. They only understand the word in an emotional child-like way – it is ‘bad’ and ‘scary’. Here is a frequently used list of fascism’s defining characteristics. You can look at it and decide for yourself.
•Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
•Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
•Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
•Supremacy of the Military
•Rampant Sexism
•Controlled Mass Media
•Obsession with National Security
•Religion and Government are Intertwined
•Corporate Power is Protected
•Labor Power is Suppressed
•Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
•Obsession with Crime and Punishment
•Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
•Fraudulent Elections
Anything, and everything, originating from the federal government and beginning with the words ‘War on ….’ is doomed to failure – and you can take that to the bank.
In any event, war-on-terror is an even more worthless and meaningless expression than post-modern Middle-East Neo-fascist.
How do you fight a war against ‘things that scare you’? If you are a Republican and part of the Military Industrial Complex, you want it to have no definition and to go on forever – because that means more money in your pocket.
What kind of Administration do we have that craps-its-pants and raises the alert level every time Osama Bin-Laden farts? It is embarrassing to have such ignorant and cowardly leadership. Don’t forget, the Bush administration (including Rumsfeld, who’s Korean experience was confined to the Princeton campus) is made of people (Chickenhawks) who did not just ‘not have to serve’, but proactively used their privileged stations in life and social position to ‘avoid’ the obligations of duty and service that are supposed to be the responsibility of all Americans.

Yellow/orange alert is close to red, so it is high alert. (I think). Of course it is always high alert, no matter what's going on.
According to Republicans, you should be afraid, because only they can keep you safe. If the Democrats take control (in Nov), of one or both houses of Congress, the only one who needs to be afraid is Bush & company. The investigations will begin on the warrentless wiretapping, secret prisons & torture issues, as well as unregulated spending. As well they should be.
Are we safer now then before 9/11? How can we be when our borders & ports are not secure? How can we be safer when our military (including National Guard), are all out of the country?
We have been trying for years to get our borders & ports more secure. Should you be afraid? I know I am. You'll certainly see me at the polls in Nov. I take that back, you won't see me there. I vote absentee ballot. It's too easy. Plus...there's a paper trail. Happy voting!

In the constitution the Government is supposed to "Provide for the Common Defense"
Yes we were attacked and yes there are a lot of extremists out there who need to be dealt with.
But our government is trying as hard as it can to scare us!
When we were in WWII the presidents at that time didn't;t try to scare us...when we were in the great depression Roosevelt didn't try to scare us. The point here is that the Government is using the media to scare people and it is working!!!!
If this war was so desperate they would not be trying to scare us...we would all be scared enough and we would be asked to sacrifice and we would all be signing up in droves to fight the enemy....
Wake up this is for the most part a farce....I am not a pacifist and we need to eliminate radical Islamic terrorist wherever the are...but there is more here than it appears.

Simply being afraid is victory to a terrorist.
USA is phenomenally informidable. Not because of might or econimics - those are spinoffs. Because of our tolerance of kaliedescopic views, and our fierce protection of exactly that.
USA must stand proud that we are willing to fight for those who cannot, heal the injured and ailing worldwide, and protect our friends against hideously gruesome tyrants.
We can withstand name-calling and cold shoulders. We really do not want what others have. We like what we have, and will fight to keep it. We share these simple principles in aid and protections knowing the common man deserves the rights we enjoy.
Fear terrorism? NO!
We can and will kick ***.

Simple carbs are full of empty rhetoric . How do think they coined the expression Fat Cat politicians? It all makes a little
more sense when u begin to realize most of these people are idiots to begin with. that is the very basis and criteria for beginning to truly understand the world as we see it today... sometimes stupidity is as prevalent a cause to effect as the intelligence we would prefer..........

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself." if ever a truer words were spoken.
Why are we being spoon fed this crap on a daily basis? DISTRACTION from the truth. There's more than meets the eye and it is about money and power.
Keep questioning. Keep digging.
