American government only pay lip service to freedom of speech ... look back at history of cinema industry where if you were communist you were hounded. and now if you burn your own stars and stripes as a protest you can be arrested (still better than getting shot by state troops) as in the anti Vietnam war protests .... great responsibility? to what? money

Americans do believe in freedom of speach , with freedom comes responsibility .
If you're not willing to take the responsibility for your words or actions , you fool only yourself .
