I'm not kidding: George W. Bush wants to ban somatic cell nuclear transfer research, which would create medically precious stem cells by moving patients' own skin cells into the nucleii of donated eggs. This is not the cloning of babies we're talking about -- no Frankenbabies would be created in the process. It's simply the creation of stem cell lines tailored to each individual's genetic makeup, which could be used to help people walk again, recover from strokes, battle cancer, Parkinson's disease and lead healthier lives in ways we can't even yet imagine. But Bush will have none of that. With this policy, any researcher, health care provider or patient using such a treatment would have to fork over up to a million dollars and spend up to ten years in jail. How petty and backward-minded?

Pre-requisite to answering this question is a brief synopsis of your own personal experiences with drug use, including alcohol, especially marijuana use, if applicable.

I mean,,,, anything from "I have smoked a few joints at parties" to "never touched any of the stuff" to "i get plowed and swerve people off the roads driving home after NASCAR events" to "I dropped LSD with Timothy Leary in the 1960's" to "I AM Timothy Leary" to whatever degree of anything

I think it should be legalized and I have had quite an extensive array of experimentation with a variety of things in my lifetime - and I still smoke pot. I quit drinking 4 years ago.

Is it because it impares your judgement or driving skills?
Is it because it is a form of sedative, calm your nerves?
Is it because it has an addictive side effects?
Is it because it may cause health problems?

For a minute there I thought I was talking about alcohol and cigarettes.

Half the time Bush can't even read his cue cards without stumbling over the big words. This indicates an unfamiliarity with such words, and is a symptom of his lack of intellectual engagement. How can we afford to have such a disengaged man in the seat of the presidency for two more years?

Is it just me, or does it seem that all of the extreme left, liberal, cry baby, pacifist, rhetoric spewing ignorant conspiracy nut jobs all seem to find their way to the political forums on this site?

And, no, I am not a Republican. I agree and disagree with a lot of Bush's different policies - but the only policies I see coming from the democrats must be secret, because the only alternative they seem to present is not "vote for me," but, instead, " vote against them!"

If you answer with your Bush bashing and coverup nonsense, you'll just prove my point.

Do these people really believe that their hatred and negativity will promote their chances to regain the Whitehouse in 2008??

I have been watching closely Q's & A's along this line and I am disappointed with what I've seen. I am not anti-Semitic. I have many fulfilling relationships with Jewish people and even while being atheist, can respect the Jewish religion. However, none of this changes the fact that I believe that the Zionist movement, the establishment of Israel, and Israeli agression since then are the primary causes of most of the world's instablility. In short, I think the 20th Century Israel was just a bad idea from the start. It has nothing to do with being anti-Jewish culture/people/religion.

Can I get some reasonable (i.e. not hateful or defensive) input from Jews and Gentiles alike?

They have played with the constitution in favor of breaking human rights i.e. gitmo bay.

They have twisted the constitution in favor of invasion of privacy. Eavesdropping on all Americans.

They have twisted the constitution in inprisoning an American citizen without having legal representation. Pedela if you remember?

Cons you are playing with fire and spiting on the values of our constitution. You are a minority and are a dying breed. God Bless True Americans and Not Traitors Like You.

Everytime they're criticised for their barbaric treatment of Palestinians they whinge about the Holocaust and how the whole world is out to get them. If that doesn't work, they use the great silencer - Anti-Semitism. They also won't stop moaning about how much they 'suffer' - I guess being the only 'democracy' in the region is tough business, especially when you treat 3 million people like caged animals. It's a tragic irony but the Nazis would have been proud of them
