I want the FBI, CIA and whoever else needs to, to eavesdrop on terrorists, but I also want the president to follow the law.

The FISA law says a warrant is required within 72 hours of a domestic wiretap. It gived the Presidents flexibility to act quickly if he needs to, but at the same times keep him accountable to follow the law. If Bush thinks 72 hours is not enough time I would support changing the law to give him more time, but Bush has opposed any changes to the law. Instead he simply chose to ignore the law.

Why have Republicans, who jumped on the tiniest violations by Clinton, given Bush a pass to violate any law he pleases?

If in 2008 we have President Hillary, do you expect the Republicans will let her do much warrantless wiretapping?

She is quoted today saying that Christianity is as dangerous as radical Islam. Now come on!! Even all you paranoid liberals out there that think the Right is run from the pulpit have to admit this is pure stupidity. And then the lemming audience applauds her when she says it.

How many Christian churches are hijacking planes and threatening to put an end to Western civilization as we know it?

A sad, sad statement on the current status of thinking in America, in my opinion.

I'm talking about people who attribute everyone else's motives to "fear." Why can't someone decide that a certain policy is a good and rational solution to a real and existing problem? Why do some people feel the need to condemn that decision as being made out of fear?

The kind of people I am talking about are the ones that say that I am wrong for supporting actions against terrorists because I am motivated by some amorphous, uncaused "fear," implying that if I weren't afraid, then I wouldn't support these actions. Truthfully, the chances that I will be caught in a terrorist attack are quite slim. However, I don't deny they exist, nor do I deny their motives.

I hate that disparaging phrase "led by fear," as if there is nothing at all anyone should be concerned about. It doesn't mean that I am being led by some blind, irrational fear. It means that that I see a real and credible danger that needs to be addressed.

Specifically, the ones who were saying that it was full of lies? Did any of you actually watch it? Because I did, and I didn't see anything glaringly wrong with it.

It is true that Clinton treated terrorism and al Qaeda as a law enforcement problem, and he was overly concerned with the legality of taking bin Laden out. And Madeline Albright DID warn the Pakis that we were launching cruise missiles over their territory, which probably tipped him off.

For his part, Mr. Ahmadinejad said, “Iran will give its assistance to establish complete security in Iraq, because Iraq’s security is Iran’s security.” It was not clear what form Iranian support on security would take, or how it would be regarded by the American authorities here.

All those deaths and huge amounts of $$$ spent
and now Iraq is now turning to Iran for security help!
Sounds like Iraq wants USA out and wants to turn
to Iran for help...
Again, are the Republicans happy with Iraq's
turning to what Bush calls AXIS OF EVIL?

More than 50 vets decided to run and all but one are Democrats. Why didn't they run as Republicans? What does that say about veterans support for the commander in chief?

"They call themselves the Band of Brothers, about 50 men - and a few women - all Democrats, all opposed to the Bush administration's handling of Iraq, and all military veterans.
One more thing: They're all running for Congress this year."

"The Republicans have one Iraq war vet running for Congress, Van Taylor of Texas, who is trying to knock off Rep. Chet Edwards (D)."
