If you study history then you know that the bible was missing for around 300 years and got then rewritten.

It is no way to explain how all this knowledgement from the missing bible came in this new bible.

It is a book full of lies and guesses and fairytales combined with known facts of historical events.

Every 10 year old boy with his knowlegdement from today would laugh his head off if he would stand behind an biblewriter at this time. This 10 year old boy have 100 times more knowledgement and education as all this "wise" people together. They knew nearly nothing. Even the earth was flat for them. And then they just interpreted things if something was not clear for them. When Jesus was not to find anymore then he "rised to heaven". Off course, and when my car is missing in the parking lot then I guess my car rised to heaven ... instead of asking the police where I can pick up my car because i was parking on the wrong place.

The bible is for me the book of jokes. I read it several times and it is always good for a laugh.

And all these dreamers who say "And the bible is right". Yes of course. I can predict to you that in 5 years willbe a big disaster. That is the usual prediction. It is easy because I just coose one of the major distasters. Predictions are no predictions when I know in advance that I can choose from a lot of events. Or when I just use the number 7 (All the bible freaks know which bible book i mean) in any way I like. Sometimes I multiply it 7*7, or 7*7*7, sometimes 7*10, sometimes 7*100, sometimes I use month, sometimes years or days. I cover with this system nearly every day, month, year. With this nice tricks is the church since 2000 years on tour and find still idiots (They call it believers) who believe them. A good way to make money without any REAL work.

If I say that I believe that Jesus rised to heaven (lets say that he was flying without wings to the space, and where is heaven exactly?) then I am a good believer, if I say that I say an flying pink elephant then I am insane?

What happened with Jesus when he was "rising to heaven" when he passed the athmosphaere? He had no safety shield for the enormous heat.

Fascinating how far stupidity can go. The people don't think by themself. Exist God? I don't know it but it is very unlikely. Exist idiots? Yes, many ...

There have been many translations over the centuries but the original documents remain the same.

The Dead Sea Scrolls testify to the accuracy of the people who copied and recopied the Scriptures over the centuries. Despite minor errors, they show us that the Old Testament has not changed since it was compiled.

The New Testament canon of the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible are the same.

The difference in the Catholic and Protestant Old Testaments actually goes back to the time before and during Christ’s life. At this time, there was no official Jewish canon of scripture.

The Jews in Egypt translated their choices of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek in the second century before Christ. This translation, called the Septuagint, had wide use in the Roman world because most Jews lived far from Palestine in Greek cities. Many of these Jews spoke only Greek.

The early Christian Church was born into this world. The Church, with its bilingual Jews and more and more Greek-speaking Gentiles, used the books of the Septuagint as its Bible. Remember the early Christians were just writing the documents what would become the New Testament.

After the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, with increasing persecution from the Romans and competition from the fledgling Christian Church, the Jewish leaders came together and declared its official canon of Scripture, eliminating seven books from the Septuagint.

The Christian Church did not follow suit but kept all the books in the Septuagint.

1500 years later, Protestants decided to change its Old Testament from the Catholic canon to the Jewish canon. The books they dropped are sometimes called the Apocrypha.

With love in Christ.

The answer is yes, and the proof is everywhere in bible history. Remember, the first bibles were hand scribed by weary-eyed Cathlic monks working by candle light doing the best they could in translating the Bible from its original language to Latin. I bet that if you attempted to do the same thing, endlessly, you would err here and there regarding translation.

however, if you mean that the Catholic Church deliberately altered the bible, I think not. They have no need. The Pope can make declarations and interpretations of Bible passages and it becomes law.

i think the bible was put together by the catholic church. Was it Pope Leo ? There were so many stories out there that they took them and decided on which ones to publish in one document. So what we have is a bunch of stories that a committee of scholars decided on. I don't know where the unpublished ones ended up. Probably in the archives somewhere.
