Because he refuses to accept torture as an acceptable means of handling prisoners. Because he's adamant about following the Geneva conventions.

I read posts here from conservatives saying that torture is necessary because the terrorists are brutal and that liberals who complain about the treatment of prisoners are traitors.

So you must think McCain also falls into this category - no?

If you look Iran is more democratic than countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait & etc for instance in iran women also can attend in poll but in those countries not. even women can't drive car there but in iran is not like (I accept that SOME TIMES your ideas may be repressed by some people but it is not as bad as those countries) or look Egypt!

The far left and far right have hijacked our nation. The division in our country is without merit. The issues have been narrowewd to to a certain few. Most americans believe where they stand on these issues designates them either far right or far left. In fact 85% of Americans are Centrist. Thus allowing the 15% to share the power and reap the rewards. America has become a shared empire under the illusion of a Democratic Republic. Isn't it time for a Centrists grass roots movement to dethrone the minority that has absconded and usurped the powers of the states?

We are in Iraq and I hear a lot about bringing democracy to the Iraqi people, yet here at home the current administration and the republican party look at anyone who differs in thought or opinions as "Nazi Appeasers". What good is it to give Iraq democracy and freedom of speech and choice, when dissent is being looked down upon by the current administration?
