The more one reads about Muhammad the more scared one gets...

he killed Abu Jahl, Asma bint Marwan, Abu Afak, Sufyan ibn Khalid, Abu Lahab, Um Kirfa & Gamdiya (not an exhaustive list)...

he raped Aisha (when she was his 9 years old bride), Safiyah, Sauda, Zeinab (his son's wife), and Reihana (not an exhaustive list)

He led armies with the sole goal of amassing riches and land.

He forced his followers to pray towards his birthplace and told them they are limited to 4 wives while he had 11 wives. He kept concubines to satisy his sexual cravings.

He attacked peaceful caravans (an ancient form of car-jackings) and kept 20% of the booty.

He started a cult that now has 1 billion believers who are worse off for following "Submission" (the translated name of Islam).

DO YOU THINK MUHAMMAD WAS THE DEVIL?

If you don't know much about him to answer, read about the HISTORICAL Muhammad instead of the RELIGIOUS Muhammad and come up with your own conclusions!

I am an independent Conservative. I registered Democrat in the last election. I do not agree 100% with President Bush and the Republican majority. Honestly, I find many of todays Republicans too Moderate or Liberal, and weak for my tastes. I also think that the Democratic party in no longer what it used to be. I find that both partys are dominated by Liberal extremists or spineless Moderates. Why then, when I ask a question from a Conservative point of view, do many people, without thinking, call me a stupid or deluded Republican? I do not assert differences with the Democrat party because I know Conservative Democrats. Nor do I consider myself in disagreement with all Liberals. I have found common ground with many Liberals on certain issues. My beef is with the Liberal extremists in both (all) parties. I know a lot of Liberal Republicans.

ignored Al Qaeda and allowed it to become our biggest enemy during his 8 years in office... illusory stock market bubble propped up by internet speculation completely burst... more families having to take 2nd jobs in order to keep up with increased taxes... tried to get Bill Richardson to give Monica Lewinsky a job at the UN so she wouldn't pursue sexual harassment claim... allowed companies like Enron, World Com, Global Crossing, etc to break many laws during the late '90s via lack of SEC oversight... afraid to arrest bin Laden in Sudan due to "lack of evidence".... bombed Iraq on December 16, 1998 because of its WMD... asked Saudi Arabian princes for million dollar contributions to his presidential library instead of asking for wanted suspects in 1996 Khobar Towers bombing... shook down the Chinese for tens of millions of dollars for his 1996 re-election campaign...

I think we could be looking at a prelude to WWIII and I think that much of what is going on is Iran's way of testing the waters to see what the reaction internationally might be. You may disagree with me and I sincerely invite your input on the debate but I almost feel sorry for the Isreali's and Hezbollah guerillas in Lebanon. They undoubtedly have always had gripes over land issues; however, I don't think Hezbollah would have instigated anything right now if it hadn't been pushed and manipulated by Iran. As such both Isreal and the Hezbollah guerillas in Lebanon are being used as pawns and innocent people on both sides are dying. Already it has been somewhat effective as other Muslim dominated nations are starting to stand in criticism of Isreal, as is the UN. So again it appears to be Isreal, the US and UK. Moreover, Iran is already seeing the US/UK becoming bogged down in Iraq and is loving it. So, if hostilities spread and intensified, who else would join in and on what side.

CNN is really starting to scare me.

They have been running a lot of specials recently that make it seem to me like they are trying to brainwash Americans into supporting action against North Korea, Lebanon, Iran, etc. I support America first and foremost, let's get that out of the way, but what's up with the CONVENIENT specials about the Marine barracks bombing in Beirut, political oppression in North Korea, etc.? I won't even talk about Fox News and their little hints about Syria and Iran. The news reported on the Iranian president's letter and made him look like a madman, then I read it online myself and found it quite rational and diplomatic.

What's up with this bull? What, America isn't guilty of violating certain rights granted in the constitution and Bill of Rights? What about poverty in America, the richest country in the world?

I will be honest, I am afraid of America more than I am any desert sandtrap a gazillion miles away from me.

I'm an American living in Canada, I can't get over how much nastier politics has gotten in the US in last 6 or 7 years. Want proof? Ask a question on YA that is even remotely involved with politcs and sit back and watch the attack dogs from both sides pummel each other. Do people really think fighting like spoiled toddlers is going to win their side any points.... Calm and rational debate leading to comprise is what the governing system in the US was founded on. How did everday nobody's get so angry about issues that won't affect their day to day lives? I'm starting to believe that ignorance is better than biased half truths that people spew as knowledge today... please advise.

What's the real sentiment in that nation towards the Americans? Afghanistan?

I think about how Americans are back home, and I shudder to think of their attitude towards the Iraqis. The people of this country are the last ones who should ever go nation-building. Americans love to alienate people and think they're always right. They are professional backstabbers who lie and cheat to one-up you at every chance. Whenever they get a little bit of money or success, they immediately start becoming divisive, calling people losers or bums with no ambition, instead of being gracious and happy. They have a big problem respecting and listening to people.

In short, Americans live to be miserable. Why the hell would any other country want them running their affairs? I was born and lived overseas, and have been to other countries like Australia and Canada, and many people want nothing to do with the US. Hearts and minds...our attitude isn't winning them.

I want this country to be free for ever.

I can see Christianity fading quickly, with only the mussers being a stong faith.

When they out number non mussers they will go for teh UK as an Islamic state.

How do we prevent this????

I have had one unconfirmed report of high school students fighting over the polarized positions of the left and the right. I have also received some e-mail from contacts on the right who are equally concerned at the popularization of the political dialogue.
