I have had one unconfirmed report of high school students fighting over the polarized positions of the left and the right. I have also received some e-mail from contacts on the right who are equally concerned at the popularization of the political dialogue.

The question is based on a work published in 1997 called The Fourth Turning stating that due to social factors the Anglo Saxon culture goes through a crisis period ever 80 years or so.

i read some of the answers to your question, my point of view is a little bit different,
If you look at the old history, you will fild that all the superpowers of the ancient history have been demolished, their reign came to an end at the time when they were much confident,
the romans, the babylonians, the muslims in middle ages and the british empire in 18, 19 and 20 century, what happened , all that finished.

i dont think that some one will hit USA by atom bomb or any other thing, but this power will came to an end by its own people may be, or by God.
but it is the fact that every power has its end, sooner or later.

over the left and right? never happen. It would only happen if let's say the government was sending out the guard to patrol all the streets in all the towns in all the states. You'd have to show a permit to go any where, things like that. might cause a revolution. But no just cuz one party calls another party stupid? nah!

There is no such thing as a 'civil war'. It's an oxymoron.*

High school students don't need politics to get into a fight. More likely it was over who should win the next American Idol competition.

I think we are safe from any civil war in this country for now. The high school students do not vote, and their positions will change as they grow older, get jobs, have children, move away from home, and mature in general.

Of course not. Come up with some other hare-brained scheme, this one won't hold water.

High school students fighting, give me a f-ing break.

Next you'll be saying that our national sovereignty is under attack from millions of illegals crossing our southern borders unchecked.

I firmly believe that we are headed in that direction. With mass unemployment, illegal immigrants, collapse of the monetary system which is on the doorstep, we surely are headed in that direction. The powers that be would love it. MARTIAL LAW and the end of our CONSTITUTION. Anarchy may be approaching this country sooner then we thought. NEW WORLD ORDER here we come.

america is a great nation, because no nation can be a superpower without being great. its citizens are devoted towards the progress of the nation and are therefore patriot. but onething i must say that today america has got inhuman political leadership, mr. bush is no bodies man, he is a selfish and inhuman person, he will ruin all the greatness of america and will destroy it by his own greed, save your nation from him.
