Will this country be divided and experience a civil war between the democrats and republicans much like the north and the south war?

If so then I stand with the democrats, as most republicans are fat greedy assholes that can't do anything but run there mouth spewing total bullshit!

Thankfully most Americans are more intelligent than yourself and would never even think of such a thing.

Keep on waving that Confederate flag!

Well if the war did start, then we know the Republicans would lose because they cant seem to win this war in Iraq with all our military technology. Plus they would have George Bush leading them. That can't be good.

But seriously I don't think (and hope that) a civil war will ever happen.

1) Americans are too lazy
2) Even though we all like to fight with each other online you rarely see this outside of the online environment. All my republican/democratic friends aren't as dumb or ignorant as some of these people online
3) What would it resolve? Nothing but a bunch of dead Americans that would have to struggle to get the economy back on track

The best resolution would to get some hardcore government reform, like limiting all offices to 4 years and breaking up this 2 party system.

The fundamental difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Dems prefer a strong central (federal) government, while Repubs believe in allocating more authority to state and local government.

In recent years, this fact got lost in all of the ideological/social hot buttons like abortion, stem cell research, national security, ways to utilize natural resources, and the like. Most republicans tend to lean to the conservative side of these issues while democrats are primarily liberal. Where one stands on this continuum will determine one's allegiance.

In my opinion, both parties today are rendered impotent by their machinations against each other.

If this so called war broke out there would be chaos seeing how the country is a melange of different viewing people EVERYWHERE!! People just need to live with the fact that not everyone has the same view and thats why our country is so awesome...

And your comment about Republicans....cut the crap! Liberals are the ones who are all talk and no action.

The republicans and democrats are both worthless. Even if there was a civil war. Who would win, the assholes or the assholes. They are all wolves on the hunt looking for sheep to slaughter. **** both of them.

I certainly think so, but I sure hope not.
They way it is going right now the average American is in debt up to their necks. Owning to banks, credit lenders and getting sick or in a car accident might get them bankrupt.
People here need to get more involved with what kind of policies the government is passing under their noses. Will it benfit the citizen in the long run, or is it just another way to bring large amounts of profits.

"Then, even after 9/11 drove home the need for conservation as never before, Bush didn’t even stir. He told Americans to keep on shopping and keep on consuming. Not a word about the need to conserve."

Here is Bush speaking to a single mother of three who works three jobs. Bush sais that is "uniquely American". Working three jobs is uniquely American? How about health, spending time with children, their education.

It's interesting, but the "red states" in the last presidential election are many of the same states that supported the Confederacy and slavery during the Civil War. Most of "blue states" are the same as those that supported the union and were anti slavery during that conflict.
