Do you think it is a requirement, really?

No its not a requirement. Just like being a man is not a requirement... the requirements are- have to be: 35 years old/older born in the US, live in the US. Those are the main ones i can think of. Unfortunately most black presidential candidates are jokes (Al Sharpton) so people like that will never be elected. Colin Powell however i would def. vote for. Time will tell, just like if a woman will be elected....or both at once-Condi '08 whoknows!

It is not a requirement to be white, only that the person is an American Citizen born in the US and over 35 years of age.

No it isn't a requirement to be white. Just like the million questions that come up about women presidents. When a credible candidate comes forth that shares my values and has a program I agree with, then that person will get my vote.

There's only three qualifications for being President:

- You must be at least 35 years old.
- You must be a natural-born American citizen.
- You must have lived in the United States at least 14 years.

So, no, being white isn't a rule.

Nope. If you've got the funds and a steady platform to run on then I'm sure you could manage to pull it off, no matter what race you are. And also if you come across as a generally likeable person to the American public.

No, Coln Powell could have duck-walked into the presidency if he hadn't tied his wagon to the Bush regime. That won't happen now, once you bow down to kiss Bush's butt your credibility is shot.

Some people were trying to get Condi to run. It depends on the person running for office.
