Barry Goldwater was considered the father of the modern conservative movement. His work was considered vital to Ronald Reagan's election.

In later life, he went on to tick off conservatives by supporting equal rights for gays.

A quote:

"The oldest philosophy in the world is conservatism, and I go clear back to the first Greeks. ... When you say 'radical right' today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party, and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye."

Will true conservatives like this ever return?

In Europe, the USA, (infact, outside the Middle East) Jews, Arabs, Muslims and Israelis get along just fine. (Or atleast, By far, Most of them do!)
They're friends, even best friends. They go out with each other, have parties together, work together, go to the movies together, do things together, laugh together, basically, enjoy each others company, etc etc!

As in, they're just like other people.
They don't think about the Middle East, or the political problems over there.

Sure some do, but by far, most don't.

So, the question is, why is it that the people in the Middle East, are so different than the ones outside it??? The governments in the Middle East don't help matters but fan the flames of hatred.
But why can't the people there be more like the people outside that area??

Do you think that the Electoral College is a reason why some people do not vote, because they feel as if their vote won't mean anything?

Take this for example: You are a democrat residing in a "Red" State such as Utah. If you vote for a democrat candidate, your vote, most likely, will not count. So, would you still vote?

Don't people realize that welfare is only available to families for 2 years, and after those two years are up, people must find work and support themselves? Don't people realize that welfare DOES NOT allow people to live comfortably and that many people on welfare STILL LIVE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE?

Don't people realize that the majority of people living on welfare would rather NOT be living on welfare....and that most of them are NOT too lazy to work...and that most of them TRY to find jobs, but they are forced to live on welfare because they cannot get jobs that pay enough to support their homes and families?

Are we headed for a "Grand Jihad" or "Tenth Crusade?"

Where is the world headed, with all the anti-Western, anti-Islamic, anti-Global sentiment?

What is going on, where are we Headed?

Was 9/11 the last ounce of fuel that this grand finale needed?

Is the World going to end?

I'm just trying to Simply ASK:

Is the end of the world being drawn by a Christian/Islamic Holy War?

Ive recently heard a way of looking at abortion that is disturbing to me, they likened the pro choicers to pro slavery, and i got to say i see their point, Slaverers dehumanized blacks - Pro choicers say that it isnt really a baby or human or alive, Slaverers said they had a right to their own "property" - Pro choicers say they have a right to their own body and neglect to mention it is two people now instead of one. Any detractors? or anyone agree or disagree?

Poll how many people want (or even care about) to have the words
"under God" removed from the pledge.....

Ask how many think separation of church and state is a real issue for the US.......

Find me 50 people who actually believe descendants of slaves really deserve some kind of payment...........

......and yet all of these issues persist.

Why doesn't the vast majority just tell these few to be quiet and go away? Isn't our country based on majority rule? Why are we always caving-in to these loud-mouth few?

Partisan politics as we know it today have made a mockery of our country. If people would start being honest about everything and then doing the right thing we would be better off. What do you think?

Why should anyone under the age of 50 join the AARP. This is a powerful orgaization that is largely responsible for the current state of Social Security and Medicare. Ours and future generations are now saddled with perpetually high taxes to support these poorly managed entitlement programs.

Historic Social Security Tax Rate
1950 - 3%
1960 - 6%
1970 - 8.4%
1980 - 10.2%
1990 - 12.4%
2000 - 12.4%

What is projected
1984- 2015
The Social Security program brings in more money than it spends. The surplus money is loaned to the federal government.

2015-2037
The Social Security program spends more money than it collects in taxes. The federal government pays back the money that the Social Security program has loaned to it with interest.

2037-2075
The SS program runs annual deficits totaling 30 trillion dollars
