I'm a little left of center politically and I vote for the person and not the party.

You should count Florida because it's as redneck as any southern state except for south Florida and Miami.

I'm from the south and live in SC currently... but what I see around me only encourages me to become more liberal...

people in the south have a funny way of complaining about taxes, even when they are the lowest in the nation... and yet the school systems are ranked the worst in the nation... funny how that works out...

things won't change until they want to pay for them, but apparently they are quite content being the worst in education in the nation...

I am definitely a hillbilly and from NM so I guess I count as a southerner too. I vote mostly republican although if I see a really good democrat or a really bad republican I'll trade off. Voted for Bush though! Why do you ask?

Well I am from Oklahoma if that counts. My view is that we need to get the freakin troops out of Iraq because there will always be car bombs and suicide bombers. I am sick of hearing Bush say that it will get better over there. He wants that nation to be like America, but that will not happen because them people over there are not civilized and most of them are stupid. Why don't we spend our tax money on helping the people of this nation rather than spending it on them. I seen in the news that parts of military bases are having to shut down because they cannot pay the bills. That is horse sh** in my book.

I'm from Tennessee... and it depends on the topic. Socially, I find that I'm more of a liberal. you are talking to the flipping bible belt down here though. Most people are fairly conservative.
