Why do Republicans and Right Wing propagandists use hate and fear as political motivators?

Why does that party/wing perfer to promote those ideas rather than understanding and scholarly debate? Please answer this question without talking about religion.

A little known secret the politicians don't want you to know is that fear and hope are two of the most powerful emotions that they can utilize.

The best way to get someone to vote for you is to make them fear your opponent and give them hope for some great future if you are elected.

This is true for politicians of any ideology.

Hate and fear are hard to argue with and are "hard wired" into our system. They sell papers and attract attention. When you preach love and understanding you are open to ridicule and it is something you can get crucified over. Conservatives tend to be more cautious and afraid, but you don't want to oversimplify it. There are good, honest,intelligent conservatives who want the best for everyone. Democrats voted for the war and the Patriot act. President Kennedy escalated the Viet Nam war. President Eisenhower spoke stridently against (and I believe coined the term) the "Military Industrial Complex". Democrat and Republican no longer, if they ever, meant liberal and conservative. Both views are good philosophies in their true meanings. My opinion is that they have been distorted almost beyond repair by fear/power mongers. To get a better feeling of hate issues, do a search on "Yellow Journalism" and how killing civilians is sold to the American public as good foreign policy.

Easy question........ The reason tactics like that are used (and not by just right wing media) is because it helps to separate the citizenry from speaking to each other. If we classify the masses into groups who's ideals are ridiculed on an hourly & daily basis then the process of "repetition is the mother of skill" sets in. This allows the corporate media to "manufacture consent" of its citizens. And if you listen to right wing radio they do promote understanding to the listeners that fall for the rhetoric. What is really sad for all of us is that we have news agencies that promote either a left or right view/agenda instead of just reporting the truth as a true watch dog for the american public. Because in the end we are not left/right, conservative/liberal, red state/blue state, democrat or republican.......We are AMERICANS!

Conservatives happily engage in scholarly debate. That is why their talk shows are so successful and liberal talk shows fall flat - because Conservatives debate from a position of fact and logic while Leftists operate unrestrained by either. People get sick of that game.

Leftists only engage in scholarly debate with each other - so they can mutually support each other's false assertions. It's the old NAZI (Socialist Workers Party) ploy - lie boldly, lie repeatedly, get your buddies to repeat the lie, some folks will be stupid enough to get sucked into the lie.

The same reasons why Liberals and Left Wing Propagandists use fear as a motivator and complain about EVERYTHING.

The world won't end if you don't recycle everything. Plus, the GOP really isn't too bad. It's just been a while since we had someone that took risks in the whitehouse.

WHAT???? Are you kidding, fear is the main tool of the liberal left, debates...Cynthia McKinny will not even debate her local challengers let alone go on a public airway. Most Liberal mouthpieces tend to strike and say absurd comments when there is no fear of being called down or questioned on it, this often happens in foreign countries. I am an agnostic & conservative so God will not come into this answer. What do we need to understand from the liberals, they have not had a new or reasonable idea in 30 years.

It is amazing to me that so many do not realize the seriousness and reality of this. This has been well documented for decades and these people parade hypocritically as such moral and decent folks when they are quite the opposite. They want to control and change things...much as christians have been doing for centuries now..making everything and everybody the same. A very good way to deal with it is to talk about it and expose it. Otherwise they will say you are parnoid and its not really happening. ITS IS HAPPENING...and it needs to stop..and it will only stop when more people agree that it is happening and will not tolerate because they will expose it by pointing to it when it happens instead of going along with the crowd like good sheep and cattle and ignoring it.

I'd LOVE to have a schoarly debate with a leftist, but they always say "I don't want to argue about it" when they are instantly backed into a corner of their own falsehoods.

Knowing the past histry of the Republican Party. They tend not deal with issues that affect the public but rather use moral issues to divide this country. Look who are the supporters of the GOP.

Interesting I never thought religion until you mentioned it.
Morals, Honor, Values, Decency, Responsibility ..none of these are hate or fear just rules to make human life a value over selfish "Me-isms".
