In the question "To get rid of Bush" I read some very disturbing things including the suggestion we set him on fire. I am a right winger but I could never support the assassination of the president (even if someone I don't like was elected) Sounds like hyprocacy to me.

She writes - "Yes, that is why I am embarking on this fast. It is not because our nation with the complacent, if not intellectual, approval of most of our citizens is waging a war crime of mammoth proportions in Iraq. It's not because our soldiers are committing atrocities on an innocent population who never asked for our lethal interference. I am not fasting because our soldiers should not be dying or killing for Exxon and Halliburton. I am not sitting here with mild hunger pangs because our leadership condones and orders others to commit cruelties on my fellow human beings in such brutal places as Guantanamo. I am not fasting because the wrongfully, illegally, and immorally detained men in Guantanamo are going on their own hunger strikes and committing suicide to call attention to the fact that they are human beings who do not deserve to be tortured and tormented."

"I am for socialism, disarmament and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is, of course, the goal. "

Why doesnt anybody think that we should assassinate those who have incorrect thinking? Why does everyone think that everyone's views are equal, only different. That sounds pretty communist, and anti-American to me.

Communists used to occupy Afghanistan, and when we were fighting the communists, we gave funds and weapons to terrorist groups to build training camps, and the recruits could fight off the communists, which they did. Now, they turned against us. Did we create the terrorists then, and are we creating more, now?

Liberals are cheese-eating surrender monkeys. They wanted to surrender on the first day.

People suing tobacco companies because they smoked all their lives and got cancer. People suing McDonalds because they are fat. While I have no love lost for the tobacco companies I still feel that no one put a gun to anyone's head and forced them to start smoking. Ronald never forced you to eat 4 big macks every day. Why can't we think for our selves anymore.

Terrorism is supposedly a world wide epedemic, at least thats what we are told in the U.S. during an election year, yet the worlds biggest spectator sport (soccer) is in it's fullest swing with the World Cup. Why is there no immenant danger? Huge security risks? Terrorist plots? Do we have to wait till 08 to be scared again? Germany, Italy, commited troops? Oh yea, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

What's everyone's view on this. Personally, I think anyone that was injured in the line of fire should be given complete tax relief or a tax break at least.

Also, why are soldiers/Marines/Sailors taxed on thier income?

i mean i consider myself liberal but with both groups its like they both cater to special interests and lobbyists just different ones. Republicans have their big spending government with draining the taxpayers money into the military and wars. Democrats want to get over zealous and put far too much into social welfare
programs that havent worked with a few exceptions...social security..

This whole event seems strange to me. To say I told you so to people isn't satisfying because a lot of people died. I never believed that there were usable WMD's there, I never believed that saddam and Al Qaeda worked together (one is a secularist and the other is a religious extremest). When Bush started telling everyone that the metal tubes found in Iraq were for WMD I didn't believed him because the IAEA said that they were for conventional rockets. When Bush said that Iraq tried to get uranium from Nigeria I didn't believed him. He even had Powell give the UN forged documents trying to prove a link. The UN was like "wow." It was such a poor job that the UN thought it couldn't have been intentional. The document's signature was from a person not in office when it was dated & the letter head was also from another time. Bush kept repeating disproven stuff over and over. He was either lying or really dumb. Was it "group think", blind patriotism, or something else that blinded us.

Fla. court throws out huge Tobacco ruling (I guess people really should have been responsible for their own action, knowing that inhaling fire didn't take an f-ing warning label to tell you it is not a good idea). And Ga. reinstates ban on marriage by people of the same gender who like to have sex with each other. And EVEN NY courts agree that the people get to DECIDE what a marriage is, and not some sloth judge.

Amazing. Could we be turning a corner here?
