California teen dies after insurer reverses transplant decision

The Associated Press
GLENDALE, Calif. - A 17-year old died just hours after her health insurance company reversed its decision not to pay for a liver transplant that doctors said the girl needed. Nataline Sarkisyan died Thursday night at about 6 p.m. at University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. She had been in a vegetative state for weeks, said her mother, Hilda. "She passed away, and the insurance (company) is responsible for this," she said.

Nataline had been battling leukemia and received a bone marrow transplant from her brother. She developed a complication, however, that caused her liver to fail. Doctors at UCLA determined she needed a transplant and sent a letter to CIGNA Healthcare on Dec. 11. The Philadelphia-based health insurance company denied payment for the transplant.

It's fairly evident that the EU or the Paris-Berlin axis are strongly intent on forming a suprantional supertstate to counter American worldwide dominance. Of course America has been around for over 200 years and will continue to dominate long after the dream of european unification has crumbled to dust!

I would like to know what goods or comodities the U.S.A. exports to the middle east? Maybe we could cut production so prices would rise for them, and they could get a taste of their own medicine.

I thought that this was supposed to be a Country which enjoyed Freedom of Speech.

I for one am fed up with ***** footing around people who are so sensitive that they cannot listen to an honest answer, and who haven't got broad shoulders. (Yahoo havePC'd my expression for a cat)

I pressume it all came about when we had to have an influx of immigrants from other continents, and when Homosexuals became "Gay". Don't get me wrong here. But everyone nowadays seems to be up in arms about some sensitivity they may have.

After all when the US forces were over here everyone called them Yanks.....did they moan.....no.
The Australians call us English......Pommies.... do we moan....NO.
When black people came here to Britain they called us white honkies.... did we moan or object ......NO.

So whats it all about then?
and when did it all happen that we went PC.

Me I am going to call a "Trowel a Trowel" .....LOL

...then why does the media ignore this huge demand?

Isn't the main pupose of the networks to respond to consumer demand in order to increase ratings and therefore profits from sponsors? So why aren't the networks even TESTING this demand by covering the Iraqi occupation and conflict in-depth and extensively for once? Why aren't they showing the risque images and showing the soldiers that are coming home injured and criminally neglected the same government that encouraged them to join and made brought them into this situation in the first place? Why aren't they letting us know that most do not approve of Bush and would support a candidate that would bring them home? Don't you think all of these kinds of issues and controveries would make good television and a more balanced, educational, and more honest news?

or someone link where Iran has stated that America is their arch enemy.

Y! likes to pass comments off like contained in this article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20071220/wl_csm/ostomp

'But analysts say that what appeared to be just another cleanup when it began last spring is proving to be a strategic effort to protect the regime from "vulnerabilities" that could be exploited by archenemies such as the United States.'

as if they were common belief. why is the media pumping up this confrontation, when it's obvious to anyone with a global perspective Iran just wants a seat at the table?

time after time I see/hear complaints from the righties stating---"it was 3 degrees today, so much for global warming", or "we had 24 inches of rain last week, global warming is a joke"

what these people clearly dont grasp is the fact that global warming as a theory, states quite clearly, that summers will be hotter, and winters will be colder---the seasons are predicted to get more severe.

feel free to criticize global warming theory, just make sure you dont admit your ignorant

Abortion, religion, gunlaw, immigrants and tax issues dominate Y Answers. The country that doesn't deal well in it's relations with other countries, respond to climate change, natural disasters and resource shortages will be in trouble. Also education, employment, obesity, healthcare and infrastructure including bridges and transport are important. Corruption can ruin a nation. Why don't serious questions get considered in US politics?
