The problem with your question is that the answers all require that you work at least for a while to put yourself in a position where after a certain period of time you will be able to avoid working much at all. The hard part will be the effort needed initially to get said job, and thereafter the effort needed to get to that magical point where you are not likely to be fired for poor or nonexistant performance. Try starting at a county clerical job first, then just continue to apply for positions above those that fit your style. From what I have seen the jobs are posted within the government employee segment first so as to make certain that no ambitious, hard working people jump on them from the private sector. From what I know showing up on time, and putting in the required hours are the hard part, beyond that you must posess a willingness to blow off critisism or any orders to actually work without being insubordinate. I realize your question is in jest, making a mockery of government employees, and that they can't all be that bad, but enough of them are that I found your question both pertinent, and amusing. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that.

Post Office is a good one.
To whoever said President - LOL
Sway_27 that is a horrible answer. Teachers are state employees, not federal for one...and you really don't get that sort of time off (this coming from a former teaching candidate). Even in the summer you are tweaking your lesson plans, preparing your classroom and boning up on your education, that is if you are a good dedicated teacher. And you CAN get fired, unless you're tenured.

You're boss is right! You should work for the government, it pays slightly more than welfare with none of the hastles of having to justify your unemployment.
Any government job will do, they're all pretty much the same. Also you might consider getting a union job. The same security but much better pay.

I think any Government job would do.
Once you have been there a certain number of days you can't be fired. And depending on your race you can't be fired at all.

The field is wide open for your qualifications, however, Postal Service comes to mind.
