for Democrats to say Bush is the worst president ever

or

for Republicans to say voting for a democrat means a terrorist attack

sure, these are dark times, but it'll be years before we find out how Bushs decisions will effect the world, and our country

and, last time I checked, we got attacked on the republican watch! (and spare me the 'it was because of Clinton') ... it happened on the republicans watch

why do we keep saying such ridiculous things?

Does language mean anything anymore?

with all this anger and garbage statements can we still communicate and understand each other?

This is my first question to be posted on yahoo. It looks pretty interesting and I’m hoping to get a lot of feedback from this question.

My specific question is from a growing irritation at today’s media. I feel that the lack of information that we get is frustrating in the extreme. My general question today is why do the networks focus so much time on celebrities and not on the real issues. For example the networks devote whole months of day to day coverage of Paris Hilton and Anna Nichole Smith and the likes. When the world is falling apart and we can’t get real information. Who cares what the celebrities are doing let them make movies and entertain us other than that DON’T DEVOTE WHOLE SECTIONS OF NEWS TO THEM. Very frustrating any thoughts?

....Because nobody in america expected them to fall, except for Rudy, who told ABC news that he had been told the WTC was going to collapse (he didn't say by who), and probably the people who invested in put options on the airliners used in the events of 9/11 (whoever that was). According to the firefighter's tapes that were released a few years ago, there were minor fires contained to one floor that could be "put out with a couple of lines," just before the towers collapsed.

My point is, did osama know that the towers would fall if he had a plane fly into the tower? If they didn't collapse, 9/11 would only be a fading memory in our minds today. Somebody knew something....or had some explosives planted inside the building...

Are you all as sick as i am of having this constant round of change for change sake being forced upon us in this country ? Cannabis downgraded two years ago by Blair, now Brown is proposing to regrade it to what it was previously - because what we all said would happen has happened but these thick and ignorant MP's are willing to go on spending OUR money following other similar paths. Immigration - Blair was warned what would happen when he opened the floodgates - did he listen - NO! What have we learned from that ? Brown robbing the pension funds - he still obviously hasn't learned anything from that as he is reportedly organising another one ! But we who had good pensions no longer have our entitlement and why - because we are spending money hand over fist in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stop it now ! Our money should be spent on flood relief and getting our infrastructure back to what it was in the 1950's when we had good working practices - instead of a load of theoretic drivel!

Playhouse Congress is throwing sleepovers while our troops are fighting this war for freedom. Also, let's talk about real failures. How many times has this senseless bill failed? The surge helped the Iraqis meet 8 crucial benchmarks, one time. Is Congress going to stick to having pillow fights, instead of actually doing something to better America?

If it were our goal to do something to push down the middle class, but not significantly hurt the very rich or very poor, would instituting Universal Healthcare, along with big new taxes to pay for it, be a good way to do this?

The inflation-adjusted 2004-2007 revenue surge of 25 percent represents the largest three-year tax revenue surge since 1966-1969. So the Bush tax cuts are doing more to raise tax revenue than any other action in modern American history.

Economics 101:
Tax cuts encourage and allow increased economic activity.

Tax increases discourage and decrease economic activity.

So which of you Libs want to raise taxes now? And why?

"The devolution of the Democrats from the Cold War party of Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy to the progressive party of Edward Kennedy and John F. Kerry has long been in progress, and is not quite complete. But the Democrats' final transformation into a party of the left in the European mode may not be far off. Barely noticed by political observers, an activist juggernaut has seized control of the party’s national electoral apparatus, organized, financed and directed by the left.
This party within the party has no official name, but some journalists and commentators have begun referring to it as the Shadow Party, a term that we will use as well. It denotes a network of non-profit groups presently raising hundreds of millions of dollars for deployment on the campaign battlefield. This money pays for advertising, get-out-the-vote-drives, opposition research, dirty tricks and virtually every aspect of a modern electoral campaign.

moderates? I mean come on, I can't stand extreme conservatives and extreme liberals. Shouldn't they both team up and get the best ideas off of each other and put them into effect? We shouldn't be argueing with people just because we see some things differently. Both parties have great and horrible ideas, and we should put the best together, and be the best the country can be.

If it wasn't bad enough that in Last August alone, according to Gore burned through 22,619 kilowatt-hours of electricity, more than twice the amount in one month that an average American family uses in an entire year!!! http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=55724128
a week after Live Earth, eco-warrior Al Gore didn't do much for his green credentials when he shocked fellow environmentalists by serving up an endangered fish at a wedding rehearsal dinner.
The former US vicepresident provided 75 guests with Chilean sea bass - one of the world's most threatened fish species.
Gore who created the climate change documentary An Inconvenient Truth, sampled a sixcourse tasting menu at Beverly Hills' Crustacean restaurant which included the sea bass - also known as Patagonian toothfish.

Democrats' sleepy Senate Iraq vote shot down...

So whining and complaining and acting like they are 5 year olds didn't accomplish the task they set out to do? "Waaaaa, waaaaaa.... stop the war or I won’t go to bed.... waaaaa waaaaa..."

I wish the libs would grow up and deal with this war like adults. The Republicans are not going to get off scott free... we need to learn how to work together.. but like grown ups. I don't think this is too much to ask of our "leaders".

What are your thoughts?

Clinton had an affair with an intern in the white house and lied about it, taking the presidency to a new low. Bush has taken it to a whole another level with a plethora of lies, deceit, incompetence and greed. It can be argued that had Clinton not had the salacious affair, the issues and politics of the 2000 election would have been quite different. The presidency would have not had the sad decline it has had in the past 10-12 years. And the degree of partisanship would have been much much lower as a result. What say?
