Democrats' sleepy Senate Iraq vote shot down...
So whining and complaining and acting like they are 5 year olds didn't accomplish the task they set out to do? "Waaaaa, waaaaaa.... stop the war or I won’t go to bed.... waaaaa waaaaa..."
I wish the libs would grow up and deal with this war like adults. The Republicans are not going to get off scott free... we need to learn how to work together.. but like grown ups. I don't think this is too much to ask of our "leaders".
What are your thoughts?

I respect your opinion... I was just trying to match the maturity of our current "leaders". Seriously, my daughter (5) threatens to "not go to bed" when she is trying to get her way... I expect more from our "leaders"

I think your characterization of the democrats is the kind of argument an eight year old makes.

You have to understand that all this crap in the Senate about the war is not about the war. It is all about keeping the names of the democratic chosen on the minds of the American people. They say Hillary Clinton has a 37% rating as the choice of democrats for their party nomination. Does anyone actually believe this is based on her vast government experience as a freshman senator that carpetbagged to New York so she coould get a seat, as a First Lady or the wife of a Governor of Arkansas. Don't get me wrong, she's an intelligent lady, but her popularity is based on name recognition and some desperate leftists feel that its a back door way to get the teflon kid, Bill Clinton, back into a position to influence US Policy. Pelosi, Clinton, Obama and Edwards know that a good percentage of Americans, sadly, do very little research on the political candidates and want to make sure when those people go to the polls the names they remember hearing the most are the Democrats on the ticket.

No--but you're missing the point. The longerthis goes on, the more the GOP support for Bush is going to eerode. And the more that happens--when the time comes, the less Bush or the right-wing will have to say in how the withdrawal of our troops is accomplished.

I think we do need to work together - no matter what your political ideology. Will it ever happen? Not as long as there is money and power connected to it.
But I have to agree with another comment - your statements remind me of my young nephew's method of describing things. I think more voted to shoot things down because they were po'd about being kept up all night. . . The war is going to end, and it isn't going to be the way Bush wants it to. Sorry.

My thoughts are that if we are going to expect our soldiers to do all night operations, what is possibly wrong with expecting the same from our congress?

You are preaching to the choir here....
The war will be inherited by who ever is elected next year. And the Dem's know that. They just want to make Bush look bad. It's not a matter of being right, they hate him so much for winning in 2000 that their teeth hurt.
