....Because nobody in america expected them to fall, except for Rudy, who told ABC news that he had been told the WTC was going to collapse (he didn't say by who), and probably the people who invested in put options on the airliners used in the events of 9/11 (whoever that was). According to the firefighter's tapes that were released a few years ago, there were minor fires contained to one floor that could be "put out with a couple of lines," just before the towers collapsed.

My point is, did osama know that the towers would fall if he had a plane fly into the tower? If they didn't collapse, 9/11 would only be a fading memory in our minds today. Somebody knew something....or had some explosives planted inside the building...

"ohiofirefighter" - do you have evidence to back up your claim that steel buildings fail everyday (or EVER, besides 9/11)?

Al Qaeda is full of doctors, engineers, pilots and other professionals so while he might not be an engineer he had some to consult with. I'm sure he thought the World Trade Centers would collapse, as I am sure they thought they would when they bombed them in 1993.

I was on duty on 9/11...we all watched and started to worry about structural failure since there was so much fire, and the length of time it burned. It didnt strike me at the time the whole thing would come down,,,,but after the fact, its pretty obvious that if 20 or 30 stories fall it going take everything else with it. Professional firefighter for 15 yrs....steel building fail evryday.

Yes I do....a Steel building fell in Charleston SC killing 9 firefighters last month.....or didnt that happen either?

Actually, I've heard that the terrorists only expected the top of the towers to fall off, and thought that the lower sections (below the point of impact) would remain standing. I've also heard, though, that computer simulations show that there was not really any chance for the towers to survive being hit by fully fueled airplanes. Whether or not there were any explosives planted in the buildings is still up in the air (no pun intended).

There were no explosives in the tower. Even if the building had been wired, the impact of the planes would've knocked the wiring loose and made it impossible to detonate the explosives. Secondly, if you watch the collapse of the buildings, they each collapsed upon themselves at the point at which the planes had impacted. Imploded buildings collapse throughout the entire structure. I think it's very irresponsible for conspiracy theorists to run around spouting this stuff off based solely on rumors they read on the internet. And no, I'm not saying this as an apologist for the Bush administration, because I'm a Democrat.

Yes he did study engineering at a younger age. Remember his family owns one of the biggest constrution companies in Saudi Arabia.
And there is no proof that explosives were planted in the buildings, if that had happened the buildings would have fallen much faster.

no, bin laden said himself that he didn't think the towers would fall. At least not all the way down.

and NO, 9-11 would Not be a fading memory just because the towers had managed to stay up.

I obviously am not a huge fan of the current administration, but you apparently have sh*t for brains. It's funny that people like you are so filled with hate towards Bush, and Rudy that you fail to see that the real enemy is not Bush or Cheney or even Haliburton but a bunch of cowardly murderous Bast@rds who hate everything about western civilization.

Gosh - I guess the whole 9/11 Commission Report slipped by you.

If you'd read it, you'd know that the intensity of the jet fuel fires buckled the main support beams on both towers and caused them to collapse.

You'd also have known that Bin Laudin supposedly expressed suprise that the towers fell.

Rudy is a moron.

Bush did it to put the American population under crises , so he had a good reason to start the war in middle east , and support from Y'all ! don't U remember how was the situation in the USA right before the war started ? Why do U think the population now wants peace ? Because they don't feel the need to "fight terror"
