Though I can't agree with his politics, that shows impecable taste in seafood. Patagonian Toothfish - marketed as Chilean Sea Bass in America - is positively delicious, and a mild enough fish that you could expect most of your guest to enjoy it, even if they're not big fans of seafood to begin with.
Though it's not technically endangered, Patagonian Toothfish is being overfished - the inevitable result of high demand coupled with the owned-in-common nature of international marine fisheries (a sort of natural de facto socialism, really) - and environmentalists are up in arms over people /eating/ it.
Personally, I think it would be a tragedy if delicous species like Patagonian Toothfish or Bluefin Tuna were overfished to the point that they became unavailable. It almost as bad as what happens with sharks harvested only for that fin - all those delightful shark steaks going to waste!

Juan,
I adore you but, um Chilean Sea Bass is not on the endangered list (as far as I can tell). They also serve it in St Louis at Landry's rest in Union Station.
If I am wrong I am very sorry but I really don't think it is a protected species.

Chillean Sea Bass is not an endangered species. It's catches are regulated and carefully managed. It is legal to import into the United States.

To those that believe the Chilean Sea Bass is not endangered, please visit the links below. It may not be on an endangered list but scientists feel it is the most threatened fish not on the list.
Al Gore is such a hypocrite. He talks environment and he is only speaking truthfully when he says YOU should be gentle on the environment. Meanwhile he will do as he pleases because his silver spoon gives him special privilege.

Juan, you just lost all credibility.......and you got owned by at least 3 people and counting.
This has to be one of the most pathetic attempts to discredit Al Gore. The sad thing is that people will read this and believe it.....thankfully those people don't really matter in society or command any kind of respect or power.

While watching footage the Running of the Bulls and subsequent carnage, I thought if I had the story on my paper, the headline would read:
"EL GORE"
