simple logic, purchasers should be required to show proof of education in weapons and have to purchase weapon insurance to buy ANY gun, just like a car.

The sad reality of the Va Tech mass murder is the fact that it comes at a time when it could not have been used more effectively to further limit our rights under the Constitution. You will see the top ranking presidential candidates (that means the candidates with the most corporate cash) spewing all sorts of BULL saying the we need stricter gun control when it is a proven fact that armed citizens are attacked far less than unarmed citizens.

There's another twist to this as well. Ron Paul is running for President as a man who wants to restore the freedom the US Constitution promised us. With an event such as the Va shootings, and the way the mass media will latch onto it (per govt insider orders) they are going to paint a really sick picture of anyone who believes the truth, with the truth undeiably being that an armed citizen is a safe citizen.

In short, there is very little chance that the Va Tech shootings were anything but state sponsored terrorism.

Them librals want to take our guns away from us, so that the government can control us. Thats why our forefathers comed up with the second amendment. They was protectin us from the Gov't. Librals want to take that freedom away. Why does they think "guns kill people" when it's the peoples that kill other peoples!

The Second Amendment was created so that individuals had the right to defend their goods and persons from individual agressors and tyrannical governments. It seems that this has been distorted into a doctrine of militarism and legalized anarchy. Isn't it time that Americans introduced proper gun controls to stop this kind of abuse of the founding priniciples of our country?

This question centers on one particular type of argument used by pro gun people and legalization people.

Conservatives: "people and criminals will always be able to get guns, no matter what laws we pass."

Liberals: "people will always be able to find drugs, and will always want them no matter what laws we pass and how many fields we burn."

Same argument or no?

Personally, I feel regulation is smarter in both cases....

When in the history of the United States has the public enjoyed war? Didn't Washington have to hang people to stop desertion? Didn't Americans complain about fighting in WWI and about helping Britain and France and Poland in WWII prior to Pearl Harbor? Didn't Americans hate the Korean and Vietnam wars? Why does Turkish government keep on falsifying things? Turks cannot show any proof which would indicate it didnt happen.

What kind of drug was going through the killers veins at the time he was doing the killing? They say he was on antidepressant. When will people realize that these drugs are in fact the agent being used to cause such horrible acts. Wake up people. I believe they were also in the kids veins at Columbine.
