Start with a web site. Place your logo. State your main ideas (your platform), put a form in it where people can enter their names and emails, be sure you have a database to keep those names and emails, make it automatic (no hands). Keep your web statistics using google analytics (its free).
Of course tell all your family and friends and church members if you go to church. You promote your party and your web site at the same time. The cost of doing all this is only a fraction of the cost of doing it the old fashion way.

Same in NC as anywhere. Just buy a keg, put up some red white and blue (or rainbow or green) banners, find a speaker, strike up the band, and you've got a political PARTY!!
