The government cannot ban handguns in the USA. The people could ratify a Constitutional amendment which would do such a thing, but it is not likely to happen in your lifetime.

No. A ban of such weapons will not eliminate their existence and such a ban will not stop incidents like the one that occured two days ago. Criminals do not accept the rules of our government and will therefor not accept such a ban. All you do is create "gun free zones" where people are sitting ducks for individuals that don't abide by the rules.

No.

Handguns are a good choice for legitimate uses, including home defense and in-door target shooting. They are the only choice for self-defense when carrying a weapon openly would be socially unacceptable (which is most of the time).

sure why not, and don't forget video games too oh yeah and music too, we can ban it all just like in the middle east because it all stimulates the brain! and when we are born we should all have a government assistant to follow us our hole life and tell us what to do and not do, or i guess they could just come up with a government chip that they just implant upon birth, this seems to be the way America is heading, no one wants to be responsible for them selves any more.

I feel they should ban you from having a handgun. Good citizens need to protect themselves from the bad people among us. If you lose the opportunity to protect yourself or your family, you will be like the idiots who whom feel the bad guys will not use a gun to harm someone. Ban, I think it was Hitler who proposed bans upon his 'people'.

Riiight. THERE'S a good idea! That should take us the way of Prohibition. They like-to-never got THAT ammendment repealed, because the outlaws bootlegging were cleaning up! It's human nature (at least here in the land of the free) to take exception to being told "you will/you will not..." anything! That idea, should it become fact, will ensure that EVERYONE will be carrying by nightfall! Goood job!
