i dont get why Iran and other countries around the world are not allowed nukes while the USA and its allies have many, enough to destroy the world a bunch of times over.
ok so Iran has stated some threatening things, but what about any other country who wants them, why is the UN against it.

Why does the average person feel like they as an individual cannot change the world? Why does the average person feel powerless and helpless? And why do these people perpetuate this feeling by enforcing it in their daily lives...by saying it..by acting on it...and by thinking it.

Has all of humanity bought into the power structure? Have we all just decided we are individually worthless...and just waiting for the moment for a "leader" for someone to bring change to the world and make everything perfect so that you may follow him? Some great leader that will never exist....because he is impossible....

There is only one hope...its you. You need to stop thinking that one person is helpless. You need to realize that every great person that every fought for anything meaningful was just one person like you. Just a human being that doesn't need anything but their pure force of will.

So what will it be Earth? Will we stay worthless as they want us to? Or will we rise up?

Church-State Question Before Justices

By Joan Biskupic, USA TODAY

(Feb. 28) - The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation has sued to get rid of crosses in city parks, to end Good Friday public holidays and, most vigorously, to thwart President Bush's faith-based initiative.

Now, the group that for 30 years has sought a firm divide between church and state will be at the Supreme Court on Wednesday in a case that could affect taxpayers' ability to challenge - and government's ability to defend - a multitude of public programs that involve groups with a religious affiliation.

The White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives was set up in 2001 to help religious groups compete with secular organizations for federal grants to provide social services.

The case before the justices focuses on regional conferences that promoted the initiative. The Freedom From Religion Foundation likened the conferences to "revival meetings" and said they boosted the grant prospects for religious groups "without similar advocacy for secular community-based organizations."

The legal question is not whether those conferences violated the constitutional separation of church and state, but more fundamentally when a taxpayer may even get into court to challenge such mingling of government and religion.

It's a question that could have national significance. Numerous outside groups have joined both sides of the case. Twelve states, backing the Bush administration, are trying to block the lawsuit. On the other side are atheists and religious organizations such as the American Jewish Congress and the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty.

"If the Bush administration were to prevail," says Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, "nobody would be able to challenge these programs. We feel that our litigation and educational efforts have never been more important."

In a speech to the Institute of Petroleum in London in 1999, Dick Cheney, then CEO of oil services company Halliburton, commented:

“By 2010 we will need on the order of an additional fifty million barrels a day. So where is the oil going to come from? ... While many regions of the world offer great oil opportunities, the Middle East with two thirds of the world's oil and the lowest cost, is still where the prize ultimately lies.”(5)

To this analysis, he added a note of frustration: “Even though companies are anxious for greater access there, progress continues to be slow”.

He does support the Presidents troop surge, he voted yes to go to war, and has given his "unwavering support" for the Iraq War again & again, but does not say "troops"!
In the late 1980s McCain was named in the embarrassing "Keating Five" scandal in which he and four other Senators provided routine help to Charles Keating, who was secretly manipulating savings and loan banks.
They found him "not substantially involved" but slaped his hand for "questionable conduct."
During the 2000 election, McCain was criticized for his continued use of an ethnic slur in reference to his Vietnamese captors. He told reporters, "I hate the gooks.... I will hate them as long as I live." At first, he stood by his use of the slur, saying that it was "the kindest, the kindest description I can give them."
Sure he appologized, but so did Trent Lott & Strom Thurmond!
And to top it all off, as of Feb. 2007, The State of Arizona is Organizing To Recall John McCain-------> http://www.recallmccain.org/

I'm curious. I know that many of us have our favorite party and favorite cadidate. But, let's pretend that the unthinkable happens and your party loses the election. Who on the other side (even if they aren't running) would you be comfortable with?

Some examples:

A republican named Sally might say that Obama and Hillary make her uncomfortable, but that Al Gore would be ok with her.

A democrat named Jake might say that Romney and McCain make him uncomfortable, but Guliani would be ok with him.

(And if your answer is "none" then don't bother answering this question and I'd recommend keeping a more open mind in the future.)

Please no ad hominem, partisan attacks or generalizations. Thanks.
