Sigumend --- You already know the answer to your Question is "Completely Out of your Mind --- Stupid Beyond Belief ---- Good Luck

I understand that part of being young is to question authority and challenge traditional beliefs. This is normal. But what I find disturbing is the lack of understanding many young and even older Americans have about your country.

Back before America was founded, there was basically only one form of government. Power to govern was seen to come from some Deity or higher moral arbiter. Let's use the word creator. The creator gave the power to govern to the king, emperor, chief, or whomever. The power went to one person. That person would dole it out to various war-lords or sheriffs or dukes or viceroys or whatever in measured amounts to enforce his will.

Our founding fathers created a govenment where the power to govern came from the creator but went to each and every citizen equally. These citizens lend that power in measured amounts to the govenment. If the citizens are displeased with what is being done they have recourse to change things. The entire government can be turned over in just a few election cycles if the American electorate so chooses.

This never happed before in the history of the world. You should be very proud of your country and happy that you were born here. Please do not look at your government as some monster that keeps you oppressed. It does not. The people are the government.

Want to get involved, good. Want to stay informed, good. Want to hold your representatives feet to the fire, very good. But if you just want to sit back and just claim everything is a lie, everyone is corrupt, your leaders are stupid, the country sucks, well, I just feel sorry for you. You live in the best, freeist and least repressive country bar none. To be born here is to hit the jackpot.

Thoughtful questioning, is good. Thoughtful criticism is good. Just plain bashing is bad. I know that it may be fashionable for some to just regard the founders as a bunch of dead white guys but you should realize that they were absolutly the brightest and most daring patriots any country has ever seen. Do a little research and find out what happend to the signers of the Declaration of Independance. Many were wealthy and could have lived quite well under British rule. Most of them were risking everything by signing that document. Many lost all, too.

I hope this reaches some of you that are just not being told the truth. As you grow older and the older generations fade away you will be in control of America. Will it still be "the land of the Free and the home of the Brave?" or will it be something less.

Politics, Politics. During an election year, or primary etc. If you believe anything you hear then you are delusional. You have to separate the talk from the way thay have voted on important issues in the past. That tells you what to believe. For all that snooty Hillary says about the problems with the Bush administration is so much hogwash. If she were elected, it is still the Congress. and the many many many Committees that study the issues and report back to the president that controls most of their decisions. Don't for a minute think that just because someone who has never held the office of President before, they will know everything there is to know about everything going on in the world or the US. It just aint so!!

Governments of any colour are forced now and again to tell the truth to the public but they are very unhappy about doing so. They much prefer to put a gloss on everything they tell us about anything they have made a complete mess of. This is why there are so many 'special advisors to government ministers. They are just highly skilled liars for the most part. You don't have to be delusional, just question in a rational way everything they tell us i

From what I see it is because people are always so gungho to jump on one side or the other and then anything 'their side says has to be the gospel truth and they refuse to hear anything contrary and/OR if they do hear anything contrary they throw back well what about so and so they do worse.
For example, when it came out the other day that Gore doesn't concern himself in his own lifestyle about global warming instead of people seeing the hypocrisy they started yelling yeah well Cheney is worse. Cheney isn't the one trying to scare everybody
Yet when it is the other way around that would be their very poin
t and nothing else
Foley got in all kind of trouble for emailing an 18 year old intern but the Dems doing these same things don't even get a slap on the hand.
Then the Bushbots can't see anything he does wrong.
People need to open their eyes, ears and minds and see both sides for what they are.

I don't think you have to be delusional, although it does help. Stark raving mad to truly believe what any government tells you I think would be more accurate, oh did they ever find weapons of mass destruction?? Next thing they will be telling us Iran's got nuclear capability!!!!

Sorry for the sarcasm.... they just pi@@ me off!

I heard one time that the biggest lie you could ever hear is "I'm from the government and I'm here to help"

Less delusional than you have to be to assume everything they say is a lie.
