Classified guns for "sporting purposes".
All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazi’s from the gun control law.

Nazi or not the limitations are simply common sense really. I have been a member of the nra since I was 7 and can honestly say there is no reason I should own a Heckler and Koch g3a3 NATO Assault Rifle no matter how much I would like one.

I think the Nazis had recommendations concerning types and amounts of food to maintain health too. Should we not eat healthy because the Nazis said that we should eat healthy?

That would be the LIBERALS copying Nazi Gun Control. Of course, the government seems to have been hijacked by the liberals, including their enviros. They want to get rid of private property rights also.
