He does support the Presidents troop surge, he voted yes to go to war, and has given his "unwavering support" for the Iraq War again & again, but does not say "troops"!
In the late 1980s McCain was named in the embarrassing "Keating Five" scandal in which he and four other Senators provided routine help to Charles Keating, who was secretly manipulating savings and loan banks.
They found him "not substantially involved" but slaped his hand for "questionable conduct."
During the 2000 election, McCain was criticized for his continued use of an ethnic slur in reference to his Vietnamese captors. He told reporters, "I hate the gooks.... I will hate them as long as I live." At first, he stood by his use of the slur, saying that it was "the kindest, the kindest description I can give them."
Sure he appologized, but so did Trent Lott & Strom Thurmond!
And to top it all off, as of Feb. 2007, The State of Arizona is Organizing To Recall John McCain-------> http://www.recallmccain.org/

"Hanoi" Jane Fonda apologized for her traitorous aid and comfort to the enemy when she went to North Viet Nam to should he support for those communist g**ks. I bet that makes her you 2nd favorite female Democrat. And Bill Clinton apologized...oh, wait. He never did ever after he was impeached, DNA tests proved it was his semen on Monica's blue dress and how many women did he "entice"?.

What can we do to stop Senator McCain? A former US Naval officer, a former POW, a true American hero who has served his country in uniform and has been a public servant in the US Congress for 25 years? By the way, can you name which Democratic front runner has served in uniform, in combat and has been a public servant for 25 years? Right...I thought so. And as for his "slur" against the SOBs that tortured US POWs, shattered his teeth with the butt of an AK-47 and murdered any south Vietnamese that had worked with or helped the US during the war.....I think his description of those communists is very generous. And I bet you either don't know (because you have no interest in researching any thing except 9/11 conspiracies) or don't want to mention the FACT that the North Vietnamese offered then US Naval LT John McCain release from the Hanoi Hilton...that was what the POW can the their prison...once they discovered his father was a US Naval Admiral? And do you know what he told the "g**ks"? He told them that he would never leave until every enlist man, NCO and subordinate prisoner was released and was back in the US. That is the type of courage that you and every other ill informed, anti-military conspiracy freak will ever understand.

Stop a man of his integrity,,,his honor...his courage, bravery and love of this country from becoming President? Right that's the smart thing to do.

You go right ahead a keep insisting 9/ll was a government conspiracy carried out at the highest levels. You better start looking at Bill, Hillary and the Democrats since they had the most to gain...winning back the White House. Now there is a believable conspiracy.

i think of he will at last withdraw troops from Iraq yet no longer stunning away if he's elected. to respond to your different question i think of he will win the election regrettably (i'm balloting for Obama) because of the cluster f**ok it rather is the Democratic social gathering. if that they had any experience they could have run a low hazard candidate (no longer Obama and by skill of no skill Hillary) like Joe Biden Wesley Clark or Chris Dodd in all hazard even invoice Richardson and saved the vp spot for Obama or Clinton. With the way Bush and Cheney ran issues over the final 8 years any of them could have won handily against McCain. Obama mutually as properly qualified in my thoughts does not look the reminiscent of alternative electorate based on the adventure question, at circumstances he can come off as a splash an elitist and final i think of there are too a lot of people in this u . s . that are afraid of who he's in that he does not come from the comparable mildew as presidents a million-40 3 (a tragic situation that persons can no longer recover from something so trivial interior the day we live in). As for Hillary fortuitously she isn't the nominee because of the fact the election could be in McCain's back pocket because of the fact she rubs too a lot of people the incorrect way..ie. moderates alongside with myself. Obama nevertheless has a shot to win and that i'm hoping he does yet come November and McCain wins i would be unable to be shocked in any respect.
