Just curious. I can respect the fact you guys sorta care, but its so misguided. Think with the mind and not the heart. Read a history book. Read the Constitution. That would be a start.

Would it be USA?
Would it be Japan?
Would it be United Kingdom?(where I comes from)

Actually, I think it would be Denmark. Denmark had enough money to buy 57 normal countries arund the world.

I can't get to either of them. They are locked in a safe by my completely domineering mother, who won't get them out for me and won't even dream of giving me the combination.

It was only an ethical violation and not an actionable offense, that stimulates so much confidence in my government, and who authored the report, General Thomas F. Gimble, maybe it's a conflict of interest to have the pentegon investigate itself? and we all know what happens to generals if they disagree with the president

The death penalty or life in prison. With the death sentence you get a huge amount of resources to defend yourself. You're provided with all kinds of free legal advisor's and you have many more chances in court compared to a life sentence.

When sentenced to life without parole you can be stuck in prison for years and years without a second trial even if there is evidence that could prove you innocent. You can be sentenced to life on even a small circumstance. One man was sentenced to life simply for being seen within a block of where a murder had occurred. He spent ten years in prison before being found innocent. For a death penalty case that would never hold up.

So my question is do you think it is worse to throw a person in prison for life without giving them a substantial representation? Or do you think that it is worse to execute some after they have had the best legal console available and have significant evidence against them?

What happened to fun 'debates' where everyone communicated the positive and negative facts about their party... and laughed together? It seems that people are so cut throat now, they do not want to see anything positive in any other political party except theirs.
EVERY party has its pluses and minuses.
When I talk to people about politics, I am finding more and more people hide behind a label and spew out facts they heard on the news.
They never explain their research into their political belief or how they support their political view in daily life. After the fact spewing they move into name bashing.
It has become so stupid!
Where is the name calling getting anyone?

9/11, Hurricane Katrina, et cetera, et cetera. It seems that every disaster that strikes America (or elsewhere) can never be what it seems. Its always an "inside job" or a "attack by a technologically advanced nation" or, what seems to pop up the most now, "Bush's fault."

Why can't people just accept that things just HAPPEN, and that natural disasters actually DO happen and terrorists DO attack without it being an inside job?

Traditionally one would collect signatures from people door to door and submit the petition formally. It also lessens the chance of fraudulent submitions. Why would our government accept a computer generated list of names with no proof of origination? Anyone can type a list of names.....I do not think it would be given a second look once it reached its destination.

I understand that this is highlyg variable depending on type of job, whether the individual was previously unemployed, the cost of creating the job etc etc, but I am just looking for a rounded figure which can be used in modelling, and which could be substituted for another number (one more contextually correct) should the need arise.

Right after the election Democrats were calling Bush a "lame duck" president who wouldn't be able to get anything passed...but it seems that Dems are the ones having trouble passing legislation.

They can't get their anti-surge non-binding resolution through the Senate, they can't get any debate on Iraq, Pelosi can't get her 42 leather seat game room/shower/bedroom super plane, they can't pin anything on Bremer, no impeachment of Bush, no troops brought home, etc etc etc.

Looks like Democrats are REAL lame ducks. Agree?
