President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld, secretary of defense never served in combat and yet they thought they were smart enough to tell generals and sargeants how to wage war. Rumsfeld did serve in the US navy as an aviator but never volunteered to go to Vietnam.

These people are worth millions. Check them out at www.wikipedia.com and it will scare you to realize how out of touch our leaders are with the working public.

Cheney got several draft deferments during the Vietnam era and when the draft laws were changed to take married men with no children, Cheney and his wife managed to have a child so he could get deferred again. That doesn't sound patriotic to me and yet they send thousands of others to war.

Let's hear what you think of that.

Would flip flop as usual and be all about the war in Iraq and whoever did the destruction. They'd also be all for more spying in the Patriot Act and everything else they have flipped flop for. Then in another year, they'd be all against what they had just stood for. Want to pull our troops out and start all over. Sorry democrats....not every war can in in a couple days. People die in war, and there is no set start date and end date. It'll be interesting to see in another 2 years because as dreadful as it sounds, a democrat is likely to win the White House and then we'll see who they point fingers at when the next 9/11 happens....

are the 9/11 conspiracy theories in fact a government conspiracy?

think about it

it makes the government look big and powerful, like they can do anything and get away with it.
and thus may actually make them more powerful

maybe president bush doesnt mind it so much if people think he blew up the twin towers after all?

who knows?

I just read this in Yahoo! News: "U.S. vetoes condemnation of Gaza strikes"...

This will definitely generate more and more hatred in the Middle East towards th west, which will never end the War on Terror.

I often hear that there have been foiled terriost attempts, yet I never hear what they are, or who was involved. Why is this? It cant be a security issue because if they're foiled then whats the harm of revealing information?

Don't you think its wrong that George Bush avades Iraq and yet guns are legalized in his own country, Causing the most school shootings then any other country - Can't he see that this is why so many kids are killed each year? And yet - Why do so many people still vote for him? Please explain because I really do not see why this moron is in power. As do Tony blair - He is following George's footsteps (creep!)

Seems to me that there's two solitudes in America today, and neither one of them is talking to one-another. So, what's going to happen? How will it end? Is civil war a possibility? Increased domestic terrorism? How is this going to end up?

My husband is very much a politics savvy guy...it's all most of his conversations are all about. I dont know really nada or zippo about politics and I hate it when he asks me questions. He even mentioned that our young son should one day become president! What might be a fast and efficient way to learn about all this?

Jeffrod is independent but he was formerly a republican. can he now use his vote to tie the senate a, thus throwing any vote to cheny and the republicans. this is huge power for him.
he could demand and receive almost any concession from republicans for this tactic. it would baffle and thwart the democratic majority. he could even go back to being a repub but this would lose him the personal power he now enjoys. he and lieberman too, but mostly jeffrords because tie goes to the vice president.

Who was your favorite president and why?

Any nation, any time. Prime Ministers are also acceptable answers. Chancellors, Kings, Emperors do not belong here. Prime Ministers and Presidents only for maximum democratic value.

Mine is Andrew Jackson, United States of America. He is so hot and dreamy. Everything he did was just so wonderful. He is the best president ever.

Who were yours?

Kisses,

Jessica

p.s. I love you!

In Germany (where I'm from...) and in most other European countries everyone gets a Personal Identity Cards when you turn 16 (respectively 18, in some countries).

As far as I know the driver's license is used as an ID card in the U.S. But what happens when you don't have a driver's license? What do you use as ID card which is recognized throughout the U.S.? Thanks for the info!

Democrats or Republicans.

If you choose one back it up with recent evidence and cite sources or don't answer at all.

In light of the betrayal of the American people and the office of Commander and Chief, should the Bush legacy be remebered as honorable?

Our country is definately less secure; and certainly less favorable in policy as far as our allies are concerned.
One by one, every country that has entered into this war on terror with Bush has begun to relinquish their support.

The implementation of this entire scenario was inititiated from a covert operation that was to be implemented to overthrow Fidel Castro in the 60's.

The operation was etitled "Operation Northwoods"; however was not followed through with.

: There are quite many American citizens who appear to be plain white, but just because somewhere in their family history somebody was of African origin these people are still marked as African-American! Henry Kissinger for example was born as a German Jew, but nobody calls him either a German-American or a Jewish-American, but people insist to speak of Condoleza Rice as an African-American! That does not make sense!
