George Washington of course!
Outside of being the first President of the United States, he was our first General (recognized as The General of the United States Armies now) who was a real thinker despite his modest education. He was smart to surround himself with intelligent men for solid advice and charismatic enough to sway people to follow him. He was brave enough to enter into battle for ideals of freedom from oppressors. He was bold enough to stay off a military rebellion and persuasive enough to ensure America's future did not fall into the hands of militant dictators.
As President, he, once again, was smart enough to pull in very intelligent advisers to help in the first administration, and of course, still charismatic enough to maintain support by all during such a rocky time period.
Once his second term came to an end, he was modest enough to know, no man should consider remaining in a position of such power for too long AND set the standard for peaceful transition of power that we enjoy today.
He was curious, modest and generous about most things. Let's face it, we haven't had a President of such high caliber since then. Our nation was very lucky to have such a great man lead us off.
Oh wait, that's right, most aren't aware of his achievements after all history books only devote a couple paragraphs to his existence....

Bill Clinton, he ran the country as well as I have seen any president run it, I am 60 and remember back to and some of how Ike ran it. The most inspirational would have to be Kennedy, he made you believe in the country.

FDR, because he smoked, he drank, and he could swear. He would tell it like it was. He was elected to 4 terms. He was a democrat with a pair balls. Something you just don't see anymore or ever since.
