Bush's holiday turkey came back to life

By FRANK C. WIBBLE, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON DC., the U.S. - Ready-to-eat holiday turkey suddenly came back to life, demanded the president Bush to end the highly controversial war on Iraq.

The turkey was about to be served to at the dinner table, where Bush's key aids were gathered to appreciate the president's effort to maintain the stability in Iraq, despite the recent volatile sectarian collision.

According to the eye witnesses, the just baked turkey, which was still warm and greasy, suddenly began moving its legs and stood up right on the dish.

While Bush and his staffs were spectating the scene with awe, the headless turkey walked straight toward to the president's side across the table, and protested, "Stop the war on Iraq!".

The new ID cards they have been suggesting we carry or do you think another solution would be better? Say, like for the future the beginning of DNA testing from birth so this way people can be identified? (Although we need a solution at present)

Numerous studies show this.

1. Thomas Howells, 1927
Study of 461 students showed religiously conservative students "are, in general, relatively inferior in intellectual ability."

2. Hilding Carlsojn, 1933
Study of 215 students showed that "there is a tendency for the more intelligent undergraduate to be sympathetic towardc atheism."

3. Abraham Franzblau, 1934
Confirming Howells and Carlson, tested 354 Jewish children, aged 10-16. Found a negative correlation between religiosity and IQ as measured by the Terman intelligence test.

4. Thomas Symington, 1935
Tested 400 young people in colleges and church groups. He reported, "There is a constant positive relation in all the groups between liberal religious thinking and mental abilityc There is also a constant positive relation between liberal scores and intelligencec"

5. Vernon Jones, 1938
Tested 381 students, concluding "a slight tendency for intelligence and liberal attitudes to go together."

6. A. R. Gilliland, 1940
At variance with all other studies, found "little or no relationship between intelligence and attitude toward god."

7. Donald Gragg, 1942
Reported an inverse correlation between 100 ACE freshman test scores and Thurstone "reality of god" scores.

test

8. Brown and Love, 1951
At the University of Denver, tested 613 male and female students. The mean test scores of non-believers was 119 points, and for believers it was 100. The non-believers ranked in the 80th percentile, and believers in the 50th. Their findings "strongly corroborate those of Howells."

"the unlawful use of -- or threatened use of -- force or violence against individuals or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies, often to achieve political, religious, or ideological objectives"

Doesn't the American Revolution qualify as terrorism, or the French Revolution? What about the apartheid struggle in South Africa?

If the political objective is democracy, is it still terrorism? Should we attack or defend those users of terror?

Is this not just a play to erode our own liberties? Is defeating terrorism not linked to eliminating injustice and poverty throughout the planet?

as a way of saying "thank you for putting your life on the line for the U.S."... I say we give them a life pass on federal income taxes for active military service... at least for the most part... maybe up to like 200,000 a year... which would cover the vast majority for life...

everyone that didn't serve would just have to chip in a little bit more to cover it, but once it was all spread around it would probably be like $20 more a year... in the active miltary I would do that to thank them... I mean right now there is far less than one percent of the U.S. population in active service...

and also, it would be a great recruiting tool...

and just so everyone knows... I've never served... but I think it would be the least we could do...

what do you think?

The timing of the hostage release was odd, and I have wondered from time to time if it was not a set up to try and further disgrace Carter.

But why would Reagan's people want to do this after the landslide victory of the 1980 election?

What would be the point?

However, despite those obvious questions I still wonder about the timing.

Any thoughts about the timing of the Iran US Embassy hostage release?
