This is an interesting quote from an interesting person. "Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true." Do you agree? Do you know who said it?

In the 60's and 70" people didn't lock their doors at night. Now
we are afraid. We live and work behind lock doors. Security guards
walk us to our cars. Jesus said"as in the days of noah, so will be
the coming of the son of man". When noah entered the ark, the whole world was filled with violence. 1997 the bright new comet
hale boop has been traced by scientists to have came by earth
once before, durning the days of noah. The bible says that just before jesus returns to set up his kindgom satan will be cast out
onto the earth and the angles will pour out the judgements of god
(earthquakes, floods) These events are taking place now. Satan
is angry, knowing he has only a short time before jesus chains him up, he is out to destroy all he can. It is just not the times we
are living, there is a spirit world where things are taking place.
It is a good time to get saved, for the book has been opened, the seal broken, and final chapter is being read.

Ok, so a lot of us are just waiting for the next election on the assumption that the Repubs will get their due. But, after twice electing a low-IQ never-do-well as the leader of the free world, how can Americans ever be trusted again?

Don't get me wrong, I love the IDEA of representative government, but in America it seems the electorate is no longer competent. What can be done?

How come that your car can be 'lifted' and taken to a pound as soon as the ticket is issued adding an extra £150 to an already £100 ticket. Surely this could be considered as theft, not from the expense point of view, but the fact that your property is taken. I'd understand if it were in a dangerous location - i.e. bus lane or red-route, but 99% of the time it's not nessasary to move the car, i guess at least not for 24 hours.

Thoughts??

Rudyard Kipling was once ascribed as saying -It is the 'white man's burden' to rule and care for the people of the world-

Do you believe that Americans have now created there own burden by doing the same as the european imperialists of the past ?

David Kuo is a Christian hired at the W. House as 2nd-in-command of Bush's Office of Faith-Based Initiatives. Kuo has a new book 'Tempting Faith: An Inside Story of Political Seduction'.

There is an excerpt in the current (Oct. 23) issue of Time under the title "Why a Christian in the White House Felt Betrayed."

Kuo describes how "members of the senior staff mocked the plan as the 'f___ing faith-based initiative'.' Or as Kuo describes, "When I heard staff privately deriding evangelical Christians because they were so easily seduced by White House power, I raised an eyebrow but not a ruckus."

Kuo does not blame President Bush himself. Bush seems genuinely surprised when Kuo informs him funding for the faith-based initiative is 1% of promised. Instead, it is the Administration surrounding Bush (exemplified by Karl Rove) who "milk religious groups for votes and them boot them unceremoniously back out to pasture." (Kuo's words.)

My Q: What do evangelicals think of this?

This is for the presidency. It can be a political critique/analyst or one whos holding a different office already.

I'd like to see Chomsky or Jon Stewart in office that would make things very interesting.

"I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The onl y things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United ***** College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the UnitedCaucasianCollege Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door"
"I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe I am proud to be from America and nowhere else"

Andy Rooney said it on 60 minutes
I though it was interesting, what do you think?
