Bush says we have to be in IRAQ to keep the war in that part of the world but leaving the terrorists in that part of the world and denying them access through immigration and border control seems much smarter and alot less expensive. The 9-11 attackers were on terrorist watch lists and still made it in the country and all of sudden we are in IRAQ with Bush saying this is where we need to be fighting terrorists and insurgents.

There is extereme chaos in the Western world. How can we get back to the pre 911 picture. Whilst not perfect we did have some semblance of peace in most parts of the world. Are we tackling the right things? Whilst there has always been radicals and there always be, can we do something to reverse the trend of droves of people becoming radicals. We need peace. Are we tackling the symptoms (terrorists) rather than the cause (why did they become one in the first instance?). If this is true, short term solution is tackling the terrorists but long term solution is to tackle the cause - why are they becoming terrorists when for decades they have not been. Lets unite, irrespective of religion, race, creed or nation, and bring peace to this world. We and our next generations deserve it. This will be our legacy.

end with american YA users saying "where would the world be without America" and "the world would be nothing without the USA" or the more basic answer of "USA USA"
While doing its best to police the world, does the US not notice the problems in its own back yard? like The US houses 86% of the worlds serial killers, The US has 46.8 million diagnosed mental disorders, rising by 48,000+ per year, 194 million registered guns and 37,000+ gun related deaths per year, 80,000+ registered sex offenders in LA alone!!!!! Do they also not realise that when countries support the US and their so called "War on Terror" it results in that country being at risk?
A question i notice alot from americans is "Are you sick of people bashing the USA?"........Do Americans not understand that they aren't the only country at risk now? Do they understand that many countries supported them and because of this, they are now at risk???

calls or the phone calls made by possible terrorists? Its stupid to take away a method as valuable as this away from our government to track them.I'm pretty sure they dont give a cr@p about dope right now, and if your dealing, change your method of communication. If your cheating on your wife,do you think they care HONESTLY!What is everyone afraid of.While at war this is a common practice, its not new. Then after the war it goes back to normal. Its a war time practice that gives us a heads up on danger.Do any of you notice when the terror alert raises but we don't know why? Its because they overheard something that was a possible threat. We don't get all the info because we would all live in a state of panic if we new all the threats.Let them do their job while we are all living in the bliss of not knowing everything that could happen.Plans have been fumbled due to our intelligance ie..listening to "chatter".I don't get the logic of the paranoid!!!!

A young boy is standing on a street corner swatting flies. Everytime he sees a fly he utters, "******* flies, ******* flies."

Just as the boy says it a shocked priest walks up and says, "You should not curse the flies because every one of God's creations has a purpose."

The little boy, unmoved by the priest's objection says, "bullshit."

"Well tell me 3 things on this earth that God has made without a cause" says the priest.

The boy looks at him with a grin and replies, "**** on a nun, balls on a priest, and these ******* flies."

most would say if reasons present themself to invade a country, then you can invade it... but Republicans seem to take an opposite approach, find a country and then come up with enough eveidence to go in...

Iraq for example... no real links to 9-11 compared to other countries in the area.... but doggone it, we're going to come up with something... then the WMD, then the humanitarian efforts, now the links to terror...

next seems to be Iran... links to terror, nuclear program in early development possibly, crazy leader...

it's like a selling game... choose a country then "sell the war" to the people and U.N.... do they have a dart and a world map or something?

I mean, is Osama not a larger threat... he's already killed 3,000 in 9-11? or N. Korea... they already have nukes and are working on delivery methods? I mean the entire 9-11 report gives many more reasons to invade several countries than they ever come up with for Iraq and more than they are coming up with for Iran?

Bush Seeks Retroactive Immunity From US War Crimes Prosecution

By Michael Isikoff
Newsweek
Updated: 9:14 a.m. ET May 19, 2004
May 17 - The White House's top lawyer warned more than two years ago that U.S. officials could be prosecuted for "war crimes" as a result of new and unorthodox measures used by the Bush administration in the war on terrorism, according to an internal White House memo and interviews with participants in the debate over the issue.

The concern about possible future prosecution for war crimes—and that it might even apply to Bush adminstration officials themselves— is contained in a crucial portion of an internal January 25, 2002, memo by White House counsel Alberto Gonzales obtained by NEWSWEEK.

......while stengthening state and local goverment. the fact is that there are way to many people in these country one centeralized goverment to represent the people. the fedeal goverment should be in charge of defense, interstate commerce and foreign realtions, thats it. the way we distubute taxes should totally be reversed. the current system allows congress to blackmail states into conforming to laws that their citizens do not want. also, as long as congress debates social issues like gay marriage or abortion they will be distacted from issues that really matter to preserve or nation. a good portion of people feel disconnected from the rest of the nation because our current goverment boils down to picking the lesser of two evils. id be willing to bet that most americans do not feel represented by either party. however, if all of our social issues where decided on a state level, then if you, for example, where pro-life but also for gay marrige you can move to a state were people...
