hell yeah America is a hyper consumer, hyper capitalist society, these greedy bastards would sell their own mother to make money. Afterall isn't being wealthy 'the american dream'. I'd rather walk around bagdad, wearing a shirt saying **** muslims than ever go to that shithole country called america.

It is OFFENSIVE and Disgusting when any Hollywood or other Film Company, Actors/Actresses or anyone else makes a profit off any disaster films (and it lines their pockets and not provided to relieve the suffering of so many who have lost so much) -- much less 9-11. Hollywood went too far years ago -- this is just an extension of the greed present in that enviroment, the Vast Egos present, and shows how far out of touch with reality Hollywood and those who make money off the films are.

I've heard that at least one of the movies was extremely well done, and it is true that other disaters have had media - TV, movies, books - done about them that were commercially viable (Tora,Tora, Tora and Pearl Harbor (Michael Bay's version) come to mind, as well as numerous Vietnam movies). So I don't blame them. When all is said and done, it has been five years, which objectively is a reasonable time.

That said, I still can't watch replays of 9/11. Don't think I ever will. I also hate FOX news for their over the top, sensationalist, coverage of the anniversary five days ago.

It's fine, particularly as they are basing it on fact, I would not view a movie like this as light hearted entertainment, but as a revelation of the heroic things that went on behind the scenes of that tragic day.

If we do go down that route, then hollywood should never make any movies about anything where people suffered, so no Vietnam movies, no WW2 movies, no titanic, no Rwanda movies etc. And I just don't think that's right.

I refused to watch the 5 hour "docudrama" that ABC put on, but I did watch "United 93" to learn more about what happened to a group of everyday people who no doubt saved many lives. It was my understanding that the families of the victims helped make that movie, so that meant they gave their blessing to watch it. I also watched the movie "World Trade Center", as it was based on two of the very few who made it out alive after being buried in the rubble of the collapse. I think part of the proceeds went to a future memorial. I am deeply sympathetic about your bombings in London as well as in Spain and everywhere else that terrorism has touched.

NO,i believe that the movie that they made is a bunch of bull ****, here we are trying to cope with the **** that happend and all the people that died and then here comes some jackass making a movie about it, like we want to see the planes crash into the towers over and over again.I believe that they should get sued for making the film.If anything the money should go to a 9/11 fund for the relatives or a children's fund something like that.

Did Steven Spielberg donate all the profits from Schindlers List to holocaust survivors groups?

If he did, then I would say that he provided a kind of moral guide to your question.

If he didn't, then I would say: Come on! This is Hollywood we're talking about here!

That's capitalism. The right to make a profit where the chance to do so exists. It can only make money if people pay to watch it.

I like "Flight 93" and "World Trade Center".

Neither "Fahrenheit 9/11" nor "Path to 9/11" offends me.
