Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the USA assassinated Washington DC 15 April 1865.
John Kennedy, the 34th President of the USA assassinated Dallas Texas 22 November 1963.
What is fascinating about these two men are the similarities (someone once compiled) about their lives and deaths. The only one coming to mind being that Kennedy was shot in a Ford Lincoln (which later was fitted with bullet-proof windows - now on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit, Michigan) and Lincoln was shot in D.C'c Ford Theatre (still open to the public).

The coincidences between both presidents is as much a curiousity as the events of Sept 11, 2001 are sumarized as the emergency phone number 911.

Lincoln was assasinated in 1865. Kennedy in 1963.

What is amazing is that both were followed by a president Johnson.

President Lincoln was shot and killed in Washington, DC, in April of 1865. He was succeeded by President Johnson (Andrew). He had a secretary named Kennedy.

President Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas, in November of 1963. He was succeeded by President Johnson (Lyndon). He had a secretary named Lincoln.

Not sure what truce you are talking about.

They both claimed the people as their own. In doing this they wanted to act in the best interest of the people to forge a better nation rather than in self interest.
