Liberal this, conservative that, christian this, islam that, ad naseum. Why is it that any time a point is made, wether valid or not in whom ever's opinion that most people in the realms of politics and religion rarely have facts to back up their wild claims? There is an easy to use box for refering people to supporting evidence! On top of that when somebody does refernce their point, there are people who resort to name calling. It is becoming more and more apparant that the idological rift will continue to grow because people aren't smart enough to either make valid supportable points, or have no understanding of the idiology of "the other side." (For real, a person claimed FDR would be considered a Republican in todays world, isn't FDR the most liberal President? He created the welfare system, wether you like it or not his politics are not debatable, they speak for themselves.) My theory is the age/education level of the people here, what is yours?

he claims to be about the price of gas, that at the very least he could ENCORAGE scientists to find another solution. Every once in a wihle you hear of someone smart enough to make their own cars run on something besides gas, but not many of us can do that. So is the government getting something from this? Can't Bush at least ENCOURAGE science to come up with something? I know next to nothing about politics but something just doesn't sit right. I had read in a Readers Digest magazine that someone had invented a new carberator that would run on something besides gas, but the gas comapines bought the pattent. Other countries are finding soluitnos- why can't we?

The U.S. Mint has reported that, for the first time in history, the cost of making pennies now eclipses the value of the coin (i.e., it now costs 1.2 cents to make a 1 cent coin). This is due to higher metal prices, specifically zinc.

So, do you consider the penny a "nuisance coin"? Would you rather get rid of it and round off prices to the nearest nickel? Oh, and by the way, the nickel now costs more to make than it is worth, as well. You can read more about all of this here: http://apnews.excite.com/article/20060702/D8IJV6UO0.html

It is widely believed that the United States came to Kuwait's rescue from Iraqi invasion due to some innate political and selfish economic interests.
Why then have they(the U.S) not shown any remorse talkless of attempting to rescue, the Palestines from the gruesome attacks of Israel.
Why haven't they acted as mediators rather than by-standers in the massacre of innocent women and children from Israel and Palestine.

Economists seem to on about the importance of exporting our own manufactured goods, if possible using our own countries resources, rather than importing. I had always though that developing our own countries resource of intelligence through education is just as important economically. Am I just mad?.. because it never seems to be given the importance it deserves by politicians. Would it theoretically be possible to have a country with little other natural resources to export the educated intelligence?.. Like the Dutch engineers for example. p.s. I wish this was spell checked!

I am very concerned that the real outcome of the introduction of biometric ID cards would mean that we are all under suspicion all the time and I do not want that.
I do not agree with the idea that "If you've nothing to hide then you've nothing to worry about".
I fear it will be used as well to exploit us through advertising; used to track down people who have run away from families with good cause; that the information we give will be used for other purposes.
I do not think that it will be free from errors that could leave people's lives an absolute misery. I also don't think for one moment it will keep us safe, just increasingly distrustful of others. Criminals have compromised chip & pin: they are bound to get hold of the technology and use it to forge the ultimate in ID.
I really believe this is a massive con and waste of money, our money by the way, which will not have any results.

I know that the American people were not asked to vote on this one world government. This president and all of his rich "base" buddies are taking this country down from the inside right under our noses. We are more or less owned by China. New World Order. This agenda for the New World Order is on the fast track. America needs to wake up. We will become slaves under this agenda, live in a police state, have no rights, lose our homes under emminent domain laws, and have to carry a national ID card now proposed to "identify ourselves as American citizens" to stop illegal immigration. If this sounds faintly familiar, read up on how these same tactics were used in Germany. It is quite frightening. My mother-in-law is from Belgium and lived through it. They thought Hitler was a great leader at first....and then...And I thought we left England and the monarchy behind. King George?
