Noooo...marriage is a union between a man and a woman and it needs to stay that way. If marriage becomes a union between any two beings who love each other, what's wrong with me marrying my dog?

The only reason we have a government is because some people are to lazy to work and need jobs. That is why our founding fathers calculated the percentage of lazy idiots and set that as the number of representitives in Congress.
Politicians always find new ways to get money from the people. Drivers license ,Tax, Professional license, more tax, toll bridges, more tax, the list goes on and on.Sooner or later the gay community will be required to pay for sex. ( Ahem I mean buy a marriage license). And then the lazy do nothing bureaucrats can vote themselves another pay raise.
It is not about right or wrong it is about charging for a marriage license.

Nope. I personally can't believe it's even an issue. Homosexuality is just the "in" thing right now. I can't say it will pass, but thanks to Hollywood they've dressed it up and made it look like the normal thing so that's what's in right now....
Rocketman: You are seriously unhinged. Yet another conspiracy theorist that thinks it's all about the $$$. You need a reality check and you need to pick something to stand up for instead of skirting around the truth. God forbid 80% of the country maintain any type of morality level at all...for you it's all about the $$$ signs, poor gettin poorer and the rich gettin richer, that's all you see when voting comes along. Do us all a favor go and get an education, get a nice job and stop blamin the government for your problems.

I am from Toronto and gay marriage is legal. I do not see why straight people are bothered by this. If two people love each other who cares if they are of the same sex. I have seen some men with women that I thought were dudes. So whats the difference. What's in their pants. I think that it should be legalized in New york.

There are many don't believe that same sex marriage should be legalized and I also believe that the majority of people are asking for it not to be legal. Of course only my opinion and I try to live by what the KJV bible says about it being a sin for man and man , woman and woman to have sex together. God's Law.

Gay love is only confusion. Plus a trend. When these gay couples adopt, like they usually do, the child goes through hell at school. Love is love, but I prefer a kid from my same sex only as a friend. Plus I'm tired of watching these gay couples make out right in front of my face at restaurants. I'm also tired of gay men curling their eyelashes and acting like p.ussies. Men are made to be men, women are made to be women. If your girlfriend or boyfriend can't reproduce with you because their the same sex, there is a problem. So I think gay marriage should not be legalized.

Personal matters????? Come on, homosexuals made it a public matter when they "came out of the closet" expecting to be accepted!! The majority does not approve, because same sex couples are not morally correct!! Love was meant to be shared by a man & a woman couple, plain and simple!
So, in answer to your question, (I live in New York) NO, absolutely not be legalized......

Why copy marriage. Many countries now have gay contracts which bestow the same rights. Gays have campaigned long and hard to be seen as different so why not ake these contracts and make them their own and call them partnership bonds eor something similar.

Don't all the homo freaks get it yet? They are in the minority. The time is obviously not right for gay marriage (and hopefully it never will be). If your tired of all the bashing go back into the closet which is where most of us preferred you be in the first place.

Well, since the legislature represents the people, and 83% of Americans are against gay marriage, then I would say they are doing their job.
Work to elect those who share your views. That is the beauty of our system.
