I'm writing my final dissertation for a degree in Politics, I am particularly interested in International Security and terrorism and have specialised in these areas alongside American politics and International Relations. Problem is, I can't find a dissertation topic! I know how to go about researching, but I need suggestions of topics for inspiration!!!

The CIA: Activities in Third World Countries 1945 to the end of the Cold War. Should be an eye opener for an American politics undergraduate. Have fun! My own dissertation was entitled "The New Right: A Study in the Creation of Hegemony". You might try something on the same lines but with an international dimension.

well, i would like to take a look at terrorism and terrorist groups (both political and religious) over the last 200 to 300 years in this country and others, to see if any approaches have been found to resolve differences and end violence.

You could write about security in Eurasian region or Central Asia thats my topic also Chechnia, Russian policy in the region. what about energy politics and security?
