Immigration - March 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

A couple of years ago, when I came to understand the costs imposed by illegal immigration, I made a personal committment that I would never "run down to the corner and pick up a couple of illegal immigrants to help with the a project" and that I would never hire landscapers that were illegal immigrants, etc. I feel that it would be helping the cause of illegal immigration if I did so. Are you willing to join the boycott?

Everyday there is a new one. They want to get as many as they can to show they are doing their job so we get the "amnesty" that Bush wants. People complained about the employers getting off scott free, well now they are in jail. There will be a grand show of how the borders are secure and the illegals are being deported abd the bad employers are being punished. The comprehensive immigration reform will be passed before year's end, mark my words. I must say I predicted all of this. All you raging antis are gonna be pissed when you finally realize that it was all a setup.

What were the economic conditions of West Germany before and after the wall came down in 1991? What was the unemployment rate, the average wage, standard of living, and whatever other pertinent factors you can think of? Sources are a must! Thanks

The wealthy ruling class will use any means to obtain a supply of cheap labor i.e. bribing puppet politicians to legalize illegals! Also we have enough people in USA, their are millions who face long term poverty being force out of the job market by the employers illegal subverson!

I have decided firstly I would like to study in the US to help further my education and perhaps make a new life out there? I have been offered a place to stay with a friend to keep my costs low; thus meaning I wouldn't have to pay for the 'expensive' accomodation. I know I would have to apply for an F-1 Visa and show that I would come back to the UK after my studies.

So in short I'm asking,

I do hope to study and then live in the US (with my friend and her family) so what if my 'circumstances' change (in what ever shape) and I wish to reside out there after my studies, will this go against me, in the sense that I have been able to prove I would come back to the UK but have chosen not too?

Am I as a female UK citizen likely to be rejected by the London embassy?

Has anyone in here from UK had to be interviewed by an officer for an F-1, any tips, advice for applying for an F-1?

Any help would be appreciated!

I am working for a UK company in the US and have been in NY with an L1 visa since September 2001 with my family. The company's immigration lawyer filed an I-140 and I-485 last May and we are waiting for green card approval which we are told we should receive in about a month's time. I have heard a strong rumour that I could possibly lose my job soon. We are an 'at will' company so it is easier to be let people go without reason. Once we have green card approval, can I get another job in the US or do I lose residency status? Once we are approved do I still have to stay with my company for 180 days before getting another job or is it 180 days from filing?

The Home Secretary should know thtat if his department were properly orhanised, it would be impossible for illegal immigrants to steal benefits. On the other hand genuine asylum seekers, seeking refuge in a democratic and caring country which respects human rights are entitled to protection and help. Aren't they?

I have been watching these posts for a long time. For the record, most people in the U.S. are not against immigration or immigrants in general. We are against ILLEGAL immigration. Why do people think that is the same thing? If you are here legally, welcome. If not, you should be gone. Why is it o.k. for someone to come here illegally then yell that I owe them assistance, education, then tell me I have to assist them in their native tounge? I don't understand it at all. This HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE. So for all of those who are going to go into their racist rants, you can stop right there. I don't care if you are purple with yellow stripes, don't come here illegally.

Makes sense does it:

LAZY = UNPRODUCTIVE = UNCREATIVE = USELESS

"They said migrant workers from anywhere from India to Poland have "a better work ethic" and "are more productive". "

http://www.expressindia.com/fullstory.ph...

Let's face it: love it, hate it - immigrants are here to stay otherwise nobody's going to pay for your fat NHS and housing benefits bills. Considering that a sizeable population in the UK is "greying" and unproductive (and I discount all 20-yr old Football fans), you need young people to run this engine and most of them - the Polish, the Eastern Europeans, the Indians and even the Nigerians must be hard-working and decent enough so be thankful.

What are your excuses this time?
