The Home Secretary should know thtat if his department were properly orhanised, it would be impossible for illegal immigrants to steal benefits. On the other hand genuine asylum seekers, seeking refuge in a democratic and caring country which respects human rights are entitled to protection and help. Aren't they?

I don't think immigration officers are the best people to judge.
UNHCR statistics suggest that 15 to 25 % of asylum seekers are genuinely endangered in their home country. If someone claims to have met one genuine asylum seeker in 15 years then you have to look at the number of applicants during these 15 years.

If the UK had ID cards then no one would be able to 'steal' benefits.
