Everyday there is a new one. They want to get as many as they can to show they are doing their job so we get the "amnesty" that Bush wants. People complained about the employers getting off scott free, well now they are in jail. There will be a grand show of how the borders are secure and the illegals are being deported abd the bad employers are being punished. The comprehensive immigration reform will be passed before year's end, mark my words. I must say I predicted all of this. All you raging antis are gonna be pissed when you finally realize that it was all a setup.

I doubt that the raids are a show. I think that there are people working in ICE that are just as frustrated as antis are (if they are not anti themselves) and are trying to make efforts towards enforcing the laws, essentially doing what they were hired and are paid to do. I can't spit on these efforts, some effort is better than none. However, I disagree with you in regards to your prediction, you are underestimating the anger and passion that is part of the anti movement, and it is not reflected on Y!Answers (although the antis are the majority in this section). Any move towards reform is going to be fought, and fought hard. If reform is passed, the fight will not end, it will be fought in the courts, and it will be fought on the streets. Mark my words.

It was an excellent use of manpower.Such enforcement should continue on the obvious large corporations such as "fast food restaurants" numbering in the tens of thousands, "Old------------Buffet" restaurants, The companies processing and packaging salad vegetables..And if they really wanted to make headlines they could literally round up tens of thousands of illegals in California working daily at the thousand acre farms growing lettuce, cabbage, spinach ,grapes and all of the bacteria laden food we have read about during the last five years. there is no end to where the Agency could find illegal employers and workers...

It is a start that needs to be escalted big time. There were several more raids just held. Horray!!! More illegals deported and more business owners arrested. Hope they all get what they deserve for breaking the laws of this wonderful Country.

Yes I do. More still come in every day than are deported, and many are KNOWN to the government and not picked up, like Elvira Arellano.

They aren't even picking the low hanging fruit. They say how much more it is than last year, but they have to go back before Bush to even find semi-credible numbers for the staff they USED to have.

We know they want to declare mission accomplished. We aren't stupid.

Look sweetie,

Don't make assumptions about other people's lives when you have not experienced first hand what they experience. People like you make me mad. You guys think you are educated and liberal but the hard fact is you are just an ignorant, close-minded, (how to put it politely) oh **** it DUMBASS. I am only in High School, if I knew what these papers were I'd be happy to help my parents and I am trying to. There are many things I am not educated enough to understand and know. It's not easy for people who are 40 years old to learn English. You would only know if you were to live in a different country and to speak and communicate in a different language!!

Unless you are a Native American, you are an immigrant. Your roots are from somewhere else. Go educate yourself ***** than talk. Build some experience and know why people choose to leave their comfort zone and realize it's not easy to learn a different language. You wouldn't know **** for you have NOT experienced ridicule for an "accent" or people misunderstanding what you are trying to say. Don't blame people for something you haven't accomplished yourself. If you came from a different country a couple of years ago and learned how to speak english fluently and properly don't bother giving mindless advice. If you have, only than can you talk your talk and have people applaud you.

This policy is designed to completely screw-up this country. It's like putting a band-aid on a gaping flesh wound. Problem-solving is not a strong point of the bush administration.
Don't you think Mexico and the US would both benefit if Mexico became Our 51st. state.Yes?
