I have had several responses for a room rental in my home in North Carolina for citizens from other countries who want to come to the US & are doing different kinds of humanitarian & research work projects. Some are planning to bring their car. What guidelines & laws should I be aware of?

We're building more prisons. So we can hold the illegals. They are overflowing. They are a new business. Is the media teaching you to hate Mexicans? Are you really that hung up on laws that you would imprison half of Mexico? Mexico encourages their citizens to go, then Bush rounds them up. Nice.

Some 60 people who were arrested in the raids this week were released for "humanitarian" reasons, to look after their children. Do you think they will show up for their immigration hearings?

Natives did not say their was a way of coming here legally or illegally because most of the Europeans came here for land, power and greed. Then after they did this they stole the land from the Natives who were kind to the whites in the first place. Then after they went on with Manifest Destiney saying God wanted the people to extend the U.S. of A. from the Atlantic to Pacific ocean. When they made the offer to Mexico which Mexico denied they went on and went to war for the land that was not even theirs meaning it was stolen. And yet they complain saying get the illegals out of here when in fact when their ancestors came here they did not come legally. They were not even invited here. They brought diseases and yet they say we natives/Latin Americans are sickly you practically wiped out most of our people with all your sickness which we did not even know existed until you uninvitingly showed up.

A Somali arrives in the United States as a new immigrant to the United States.

He stops the first person he sees walking down the street and says..... Thank you Mr. American for letting me in this country, giving me housing, food stamps FREE medical care and free education!"

The passerby says.... "You are mistaken, I am Mexican".

The man goes on and encounters another passer-by.

"Thank you for having such a beautiful country here in America!"

The person says.... "I no American, I Vietnamese

The new arrival walks further, and the next person he sees he stops, shakes his hand and says.....Thank you for the wonderful America!"

That person puts up his hand and says "I am from Middle East, I am not an American!"

He finally sees a nice lady and asks "Are you an American?"

She says, "No, I am from Russia!"

Puzzled he asks her....."Where are all the Americans?"

The Russian lady checks her watch and says... "Probably at work!"

I am so heartbroken over what is happening to my family. My parents moved here in 1999 from our native country. It's not a easy decision-to leave everything you know behind..But for the sake of a better education and a brigther future for their kids and better opportunities my parents took a chance, packed everything in a suit case, and moved to the US, where dreams are made. It has been very hard for us for there is loneliness, longing for family and friends, not speaking the language, starting from scratch..etc. My point is people have been unfair to my parents. They have made them pay for things when they didn't have to, they have tricked them into signing papers, they have treated them differently and yes, unfairly. All because of this simple fact-communication. America is supposed to be a place of equality and a powerful country where everything is justified. So, my question is, "How are immigrants who don't speak fluent English protected from being tricked into things?" and what

My girlfriend is finishing up her first year in college. She is undocumented. The college she attends considers her an "International" student. She graduated from a California High School and because of this, she pays in state tuition fees. Her petition for legal residency has put in about 5 years ago, but she has heard nothing from the government yet. Does anyone know how she can get a job on campus? How do International students get jobs on campus without a Social Security Number? Please advise. Would prefer advice from professional.
