Immigration - January 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

One side of the whole town looks like a picture of poverty in mexico. Trashy buildings, Bright ugly colors, Rusty El Caminos/Vans. The crime rate is sky rocketing. The mexicans take up 80 percent of the jail space and commit more crimes than any other. This used to be a good place to live before the invasion now everybody is leaving. Americans need to come up with plans now before this happens to every state! Its such shame. What can be done?

So why do so many americans want illegal immigrantes out and complain how it's affecting the economy and how "its against the law", when they go breaking the law left and right every single day!?!? Don't give me more reasons, i'd like to focus on this particular one right now. I really dont think you care about the law, its just that you're big, stubborn superpatriots!! You will never admit youre wrong! I, too am an american, but Im still reasonable!

And you know its true! So many criminals, crooks and whatnot!

I have heard of Dobbs being discussed here, but as far as I know, he used to pander to CORPORATE AMERICA with his program Moneyline in the 1990s. That having failed to attract viewers, he totally changed his tune and... voila! Increased following. So I guess I can be forgiven if I don't trust the guy. Having said that, where can I get balanced information? thanks.

Some Illegal Immigrants Are Re-Arrested 6 Times

By LARA JAKES JORDAN
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Illegal immigrants who were caught but released in the United States may have been re-arrested as many as six times, Justice Department data released Monday indicates.

The findings by Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine are based on a sampling of 100 illegal immigrants arrested by local and state authorities in 2004, the latest complete data available. They show that 73 of the 100 immigrants were arrested, collectively, 429 times - ranging from traffic tickets to weapons and drug charges.

The minutemen aren't all racists or fascists. They're American citizens who are standing up for their country. The buck stops here - the race card is totally overused and old news.

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing a health
care bill that will offer insurance for all children residing
in the state. Officials familiar with the proposal say it will
include coverage for children living in California illegally.
Advocates of the proposal say kids are relatively cheap to
insure, and from a public health perspective it’s better to
have all children immunized and healthy. However, the State
Assembly Republican leader says we need to take care of those
here legally first.

Are you for or against it ?

I have been separated with my wife since July, 2006. Our official date of divorce is Jan 5, 2007. I have met a nice woman online and we are madly in love. We have met personally while I traveled to China. I would like to apply for the K-1 fiancee visa. Is it too soon since the effective date of my divorce is very recent although things with my wife turned sour long time ago. Will USCIS fown upon my application?

I am a US citizen.

All of you nosy people want to know how to turn in illegals. Just mind your business. Try getting a Mexican lover because we are the hottest. Then you won't be so worried about reporting people who are just trying to get a better life.

I am currently sponsoring my fiance's application for a K1 visa. We have spent a lot of money, waited for over a year and a half, jumped through numerous hoops, and we are still waiting for a "yes" or a "no" answer. Does anyone realize how tempting it is to bring my fiance across illegally. We could have done this long ago and saved money, time, and much frustration. But we want to do it right...but at what cost? We are depressed, frustrated, tired, and I have lost what little faith i left in our government. Anybody have any connections to the US consulate in Juarez?....

On January 3, 2006, Nazanin was sentenced to death for murder by a criminal court of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Court of Appeal will review her sentence, and if upheld there, it must be confirmed by the Supreme Court, before she can be executed.
According to Nazanin, as reported in the Iranian daily Etemaad [1] then 17-year-old Nazanin and her 15 year old niece (Sumayeh) were in a park in Karaj, west of Tehran with their boyfriends, when three men started harassing them. The girls' boyfriends fled from the scene, leaving them helpless behind. The men pushed Nazanin and her niece down on the ground and tried to rape them, and to protect herself, she took out a knife from her pocket and stabbed one of the men in the hand ...

Someone I know got married to a girl to get his green card. The thing is the poor girl is being fooled and thinks the guy actually likes her but once he gets his green card he's gonna divorce her and marry a woman back in his country and of his parents choice. he hasn't paid her any money because she thinks he actually loves her. they don't live together, so if the INS asks them the right questions during their interview they will fail horribly. the only info i have is the guy's Social sec. number and the girl's address. should i report this? i feel like it's my duty as a citizen, and it's also people like these that make things harder for people who actually have bonafide marriages. Also, where would i report this? is there a phone number to call? and what do i tell them?

My maternal Grandmother was born in Chicago to Irish parents. She has lived her entire life in Ireland and the UK, and has an Irish passport. Her birth certificate does, however, say "Chicago".

I am English, and have quite a few cousins/aunts still living in the US from the Irish side of my family (relatives of my Grandmother).

I'm trying to get a visa to live and work in the US, but not become a permanent citizen. Does the above help me in any way?
