I'm not against mexicas at all. :/...So it's funny that peopl would accuse me of something like that. I just didn't know that you could pay for anything in The US with something that wasn't of U.S currency.. I just thought it was interesting that it's happening :/ I mean this is obviously going to be widespread from now on. First it starts in Texas, and it's going to go everywhere..

Now, if you can pay in canadian, I never knew that because I'm in the south. Oh, and to the last poster, I just saw it on CNN. I change my statement then. I didn't mean to attack mexicans in any way because someone just posted you can pay in canadian currency in the North...

Well, first of all you have to have pesos. Then you go to the place where they accept them as payment. Easy, don't you think?
The good thing is they really don't care what you think. They're doing it and it's fine by me. It doesn't benefit or affect me in any way, so, more power to them!
If they don't care what I think, what makes you think they care what you think?? I mean I know a lot of people will have a problem with this because it seems like Mexico is taking over, so I'm pretty sure if the American people want that to change, they can do it if they REALLY wanted it to change. I was just asking a question. You get so defensive :/..

Brian you're very delusional. I hate the excuse that mexicans do what Americans don't. if that was the truth, how would we have survived from the time Columbus came till now??? Like I said, I have NOTHING against mexicans or pesos or w/e. I didn't know that this stuff was legal. They made it seem to be illegal on CNN. I'm not a racist pig. I'm black. I'm the last person who'd be racist to another ethinicity. I just like to think with my brain, not with my ****.

Where did I say that I wanted people to agree with me. i wanted to know if YOU agreed with it. I didn't know this was legal (as I've said over and over) and I don't really find it strange seeing as to how I'm the only person within 5 blocks who isn't Hispanic but it was a QUESTION that revolves around this whole immigration debate.

Pesos are valued at greater than American cash proper now?? the trade cost is a bit of over 10 pesos. It use to be much less, extra like nine.five only some years in the past. wow. I wager I might opt for Pesos.

It is only fair for those states bordering on Mexico as it is fair for those states that border Canad to accept Canadian currency. In most stores in Mexico. you can pay with US dollars, but you lose money on the exchange rate if you do. Probably, those store accepting pesos are also accepting them at an even lower rate than they are woth (which isn't very much, as the rate flutuates from $10. 25 pesos to a dollar to $11.47).
It's just another way for the stores (restaurants in this case) to make another buck!

As of today, a Dallas-based chain of pizza restaurants will accept both US dollars and Mexican pesos as payment. The trial program will last through February at "Pizza Patron" locations in five states. ...I had to correct the name of the place.
I think its a little strange because you cant pay any other except Canadian (close to the border only)
There is a reason we have one currency, its because of its value
Would I want to see this go nation wide ...NO .I would not.The peso requires too big a hand bag to carry any real amount of money........I still prefer the American dollar and my credit cards...
This is still the USA and our money is still the dollar.
All banks will exchange money for you ,but not all merchants in all states will accept any money but American money.

Before you get yourself in a twist, ask yourself why.
Is it because it is the peso? Because it is Mexican?
Now think about this...
In Honolulu you can pay almost everywhere with the Japanese yen. There are many signs in Japanese...many businesses with only Japanese signs. This has been the case for over a decade.
Why hasn't this been an issue?
EDIT: Wasn't attacking the questioner...just a general question for all. Why is the Mexican language, and people always the issue when there are already many instances of foreign influence in dialy American life. It just depends on where you live.

Pesos are worth just as little here as they are in Mexico. It doesn't make sense to argue over currency as it is possible to go to a bank and have it turned into legitimate US dollars.

YOu really shouldnt be posting questions on here if you arent mature enough to deal with the fact that poster are going to disagree with you sometimes.
But to answer your question, while I find this practice kind of odd, I dont see it to be any different than being able to pay in American currency in Mexico, which you can.

So basically what you are telling me is that we have the right to force the dollar into other countries like El Salvador where the new official currency is now the U.S. Dollar, but other countries are strictly forbidden to introduce their currency into ours.... Sounds a little UNFAIR to me.

As cheap and pathetic as pesos are, without some U.S. support, anyone paying for anything in pesos will first need to buy wheel barrows so they can haul that cheap trash to the store with them. I, for one, would not accept pesos in payment for anything, anymore than I'd accept the old wooden nickel. God Bless you.
