I am 18 years old and currently living in the UK. I'm going to University here for a few years but after this I would like to move to the USA, more specifically to New York City, to live and to work. I looked on the US Government Green Card website but people from the UK cannot apply for one...so how can I legally earn the right to live and work in the USA? What do I need to do?

Is this government's constant blind-eye to the illegal immigration problem part of a far-sinister plan ? Since the Mexicans believe that the Southwestern part of the U.S. was once part of Mexico, is the U.S. government conceding to such a belief, and allowing soo many Mexicans to come across our border? Of course, the popular belief that Mexicans work for cheaper wages must weigh into things. I call it the "Mexicanization" of America. The powers that be are trying to "Mexicanize" our beloved America. The poverty of that country is deep, and because of this, the education level of Mexicans is severely sub-par. With thousands a month coming here illegally, i believe it is causing a huge "dumbing down" ripple effect.

Where is Bush going with this? Will the illegal aliens ever be stopped in their tracks? It is really beyond ridiculous!

"Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." - Teddy Roosevelt.

He firmly believed that we should be isolationists - i.e. if if he were president now I wonder if he'd put an end to this insane illegal alien invasion, the free medicare for non-American citizens, etc.

What do you think?

I find it credible to believe than 12 milions. Do u agree with the figure or not ? If so, why are our Politicians(the Pro-illegas) lying to us by given a smaller figure. In the 80s they said 4 milions & turned out to be 12 millions when they passed the Amnesty law ,when Reagan was in office.

Hey everyone, I need help in determining the most effective way to bring an Egyptian fiance to the states. People keep saying marrying him there will take the longest, while the K-1 visa can take anywhere from 3-6 months. If anyone has experiences or is accustomed to the immigration laws from this country, please, I need your feedback. I just got my BA degree and seek a job, he is still in his college, but his education is far more valuable here. What kinds of proof does the government need to determine our relation? Also, what kind of financial support to I need to get him here? Is it a matter of having a set amount of money in an account, or purely income-based? Thank you very much guys!

I hear alot of people on here and in the real world whinging and moaning about the state of immigration in this country and i know that the vast majority of true British people want an end to this welfare state that lets in anyone from any country and gives them a house, car, benefits etc.

So why don't we all vote UKIP or BNP at the next general election...They'll sort this country out.

The actual election turnouts are so bad in this country that if everyone went out and voted we would be able to turn this country round in no time.

So stop moaning and do something about it!!!!

I have seen a lot on "yahoo answers" that many americans hate or want illegal inmigrants out, when probably themselves came from an illegal background too, at least they are natived americans or claim to be the ancestors from the first people who form the 13 colonies back in the 18th century . My great father came from England illegally to this country before world war II, looking for a better life . He said that even in those days the people who were allready here and who were also immigrants didn't have much sympathy for the new ones moving into this country. I guess people think they are real americans just because they were born here but is not fear, not to give the oportunity to the new ones who are looking for a better life. Many people suggest that only good and educated people should move to this country and not criminals, well if you guys study History you will find out that many criminals were sent to the Americas along with a lower class of Europeans and slaves.

We are a married childless couple living in the U.S for 3-4 years on a J-1/J-2 visa. It is our understanding that we cannot adopt from our country of citizenship and bring the child to live with us in the U.S unless we acquire US citizenship or one of us lives with the child for 2 years in our country of citizenship. We were wondering if (U.S) domestic adoption is possible for us? And are there any adoption agencies who facilitate such situations.

Also, is there anyone out there who being on a non-immigrant visa has adopted a child in their home country? Were you successful in bringing your child to the U.S? We are desperate for a knowledgble answer. Thank you.

Is there really such a thing? Look at the true cost off cheap illegal labor and you'll see that it's only cheap for the wealthy. In America all the way up into the 70's all of the service jobs and lower paying, unskilled jobs were done by Americans. So you look at what we have now with cheap mexican labor from the south moving north through the country, all the jobs they are doing at a fraction of the cost that Americans formerly worked for. Who does this cheap labor benefit? certainly not the lower and working classes. It benefits the upper classes, the corporations and all business owners looking to make more money. This is not sustainable in the long run. The cost is tremendous in terms of public funds going to support illegals and low income Americans. I just want to know if anyone else out there can see what this is doing.

Your homework: scour the help wanted ads and see how many jobs out there will support an unskilled worker and his family of four in you area?

anyway possible without a passport.? We just realized we can't apply for US passports for the infants (US citizens) since the State of California misspelled their mother's name the infant's birth certificate.

Ths State of California said it would take 7 months processing time to update and send the new certified birth certificate.

In the mean time, we can't apply for a US passport without the correct/updated birth certificate (with the mother's correct name)..

How can we get the infants to visit another country without a passport? It is an emergency....thanks

I sacrificed paying almost my whole paycheck so that I can live in a nice neighborhood in the valley of LA so that my children can go to a good public school. Why the heck do they bus these kids in from Pacoima. Let me explain to you what Pacoima is like. It is another mexican tijuana, gang and drug infested and just plain ghetto as fock. Even black folks dont want to live there. I drop my son off at school every morning and they have like 4 huge buses full of these kids being dropped off at his school. A good majority of them constantly ask my son what gang he claims and if he belongs to a "set". I am sick and tired of this! My child is there to learn. Ok am I overreacting?
