If a company hires an illegal alien, they get fined, but they also are not allowed to fire the illiegal alien if they find out the peron is an illiegal alien because it is then considered discrimination! This makes no sense to me. Anyone agree? disagree? why/why not?

My point is, with all this blather about immigrants stealing low paying jobs, no--it's jobs Americans don't want, no--the wage should be increased so Americans WOULD pick lettuce, etc, is that if a typical worker could pick, say, 100 head in an hour, and we agreed to increase wages the HORRIBLY INFLATIONARY $2.00 MORE PER HOUR THAT WOULD WREAK HAVOC FOR FOOD PRICES AND DRIVE AMERICA INTO AN ECONOMIC DEATH SPIRAL, it'd add a whopping TWO CENTS to each head of lettuce. Since the price fluctuates more than that normally, what am I missing here? Thank you.

Some used to say about studies done that illegal immigrants are good for the economy were biased, coming from such places as the ACLU, but this is a study from The Wallstreet Journal written from an economic point of view and nothing else. Saying that immigrants (illegal or otherwise) contribute several times more than the alleged 90 billion dollars spent on them for social security that is nearly non existent and that they can't even receive BECAUSE they are illegal. http://www.ncpa.org/sub/dpd/index.php?page=article&Article_ID=66

my question was simplified above. My question is: Within the last century how many blacks <- political term? came to america by plane or boat or whatever like visiting non citizens or just people who are trying to obtain a citizen. What is the percent of blacks that came here on their own free will from africa, not talking about the uk countries, but the africa. I want to know how many percent came that way as opose to being shipped here through slavery.

I just got this on my Yahoo news alert. It talks about how 2 US businessmen who were held captive in Mexico. It also looks like the US Govt is downplaying the incident along with the media just like when the National Guard was overran by unknown assailants on the Arizona border. Just out this line in the article...
"Gustavo Jimenez III and Robert Ovalle each were abducted separately in what the FBI said was a case of mistaken identity over a “faulty business transaction.” "

A case of mistaken identity?? Didn't they use that line in the National Guard incident a couple of weeks ago?!?

How much longer til average Americans living along the border are snatched and taken back to Mexico for ransom?!?

I was told by a history professor that they choose people who are either educated or have money, that the US government only picks people who prove that they can contribute to american society. Is this true?

Can anyone tell me just 1 really good reason why it is so wrong to sign in when you come to this country(USA)? Really, is there anyone who can defend the reason to come illegally? Is it so bad to follow the rules? Why can't EVERYONE just sign in, and follow the law?

A lot of people keep saying that most illegal immigrants are on welfare. As far as I know, you have to be a U.S. citizen to collect welfare, food stamps, Medicaid etc… they do get medical assistance and free public schooling for their children, but that is nothing compare to all the programs out there.
About the taxes, many of them, not all, get a tax ID because they don’t have a social and pay some taxes. The ones that use fake social pay into the social security (which is a retirement system) and they can forget about ever getting a pension for it.
I think a lot of people get very personal or let their emotions control them when talking about this subject… let’s not forget that this country originally belonged to Indians.
For example: when 9/11 happen, I felt like we should had sent 10 nuclear bombs to all Arabic countries, but I later realized that I was wrong. There are a lot innocent people there that don’t have anything to do with these terrorist.

Why is it that people make a big deal of immigrant rapists (especially of hispanic decent), yet say nothing when a nasty hairy old white guy shows up on tv having raped children? When i say people i mean, the people who say "all illegals are criminals, all illegals are blah, all illegals are blah blah ,im a conservative, blah blah blah"

Think about this:

1. Documents:
Illegals have made a HUGE undergrown industry of the wholesale forgery of any and all US governmental documents. In this day and age, why don't documents such as Social Security cards have a hologram or other impossible-to-fake feature on them? The government has actually REFUSED to do this, saying that it would be too expensive. I guess 50 billion dollars for public assistance is cheaper?

2. The border:
We all know about this. The government refuses to do anything to secure it. Tell me why it takes two hours to get through airport security in the name of 'national security', yet 12 MILLION illiterates can walk here?

3. Welfare:
Seriously, how hard is it to simply check to see if an applicant is legit? If they can't speak english, do you honestly believe they are anything but illegal? Why are WIC forms printed in spanish???

4. Employment:
Why did Swift not get ONE RED CENT in fines or penalities for having EXCLUSIVELY illegal labor?

The most obvious way to curb the tide of illegal immigration is to widen the ridiculously thin illegal immigration quotas currently in place because of the racism of the popular majority earlier this century.

Is there really any argument against this other than "I don't like Mexicans?" Is there anyway to justify it without simply using racism?
