Can't they take responsibility for their illegal actions? If we all started running red lights, should we hold our government responsible for the accidents, or should we blame ourselves for breaking the law in the first place? These immigration supporters are saying that the US government should be better babysitters!! That illegal immigrants shouldn't actually be expected to abide by the rules, because our government doesn't enforce them enough! But now that enforcement has begun due to this epidemic, protests are popping up all over. Pick one side of the fence people! Literally!

mine is that we should let down all the restrictions on getting in to america except for a very few such as no serial killers or major criminals, thus making it as easy as possible to become an american citizen
also i think we should patrol the border heavily to catch those who still try to sneak in, and put them in prison for a few years

some say this would make it too easy for terrorists to enter as a citizen, but if you ask me it already is
plus alquaida doesnt scare me, gangs, robberies, murder, and the drug trade do.

this is unfortunately true, as they are usually willing to work very hard for low wages, but isnt that what made america great in the first place? immigration?

We have a chance this November to send Washington a Very Loud and Very Clear message. 70 to 80% of Americans in a resent Poll want something done NOW about ILLEGAL immigration. And they want that something to Not include any kind of Amnisty. Vote for those who will do as the MAJORITY want not what they feel like doing. ANd I'm talking about not only the Republicans that go easy on Illegals but, also the dems. We all need to Unite and VOTE.

During the protest, and boycott by Latinos in this country, I noticed that most of the businesses who voluntarily shut down were in the service industry. The quality of service has gone down considerably over the last 15 years. It seems that most Americans are just passively allowing the quality of life to deteriorate. Political correctness, is not an excuse to allow the U.S to convert into a third world country. I am tired of being served by people who can not speak or read my language fluently, and it is frustrating to have to deal with uneducated and overworked employees, who are capable of many mistakes. Why are Americans supporting businesses who are capitalizing on cheap labor? Why are businesses accomodating spanish, which makes it easier for Latino immigrants to avoid assimilation? Do you think a large scale boycott of these businesses for an indefinite period of time would have any effect?

Ok, I may be wrong but as I understand it Cubans who land on American soil get to stay while those that are found at sea get sent back.

WHY?

I heard that Cuban refugees who are sent back get sent to prison which is why they get to stay once they land. Is this true? It begs to question, what about the ones sent back at sea. Don't they go to jail also? Why not just give them free amnesty at one time?

Also, does anyone see this as strange and slightly unfair to others seeking refuge from oppression?

Serious answers only PLEASE!!! I'm trying to learn something.

According to a lot of these nimrods out there, we should just let the illegals come over here and run our country! They feel they should be able to come and go as the please! I mena they are helping our economy so much (I hope you can catch the sarcasm)! They work here and then send it to Mexico! Oh, and lets see, they have their brats here so they are American citizens and don't pay the bills. Oh and lets not forget the criminals. In my town (somewhere in Kansas), the FBI just put out an alert for a husband and wife that stole a womans car and then raped and beat her! Man I just feel soooooooo glad all of these illegals are over here!!!!

When an illegal goes to a hospital to seek treatment, police should use the opportunity to fully document them -- that is toi say photograph them, fingerprint them and get their full names, home address, phone number and employment information. I don't see a problem with that at all. We'll still give them free medical care (for now at least) and they will no longer be "undocumnted" workers.
